'He .. was a man who deliberately chose to market his (invented) private life and personal story to create a very lucrative career as a professor in one of the world’s most prestigious universities, and to create a second career alongside as a media personality, including an autobiographical book deal. You cannot do this and then cry foul when the stories you have chosen to put in the media are investigated by the media.
Yet he did. Instead of owning up to his fantasies he chose instead to try to use his ‘identities as a shield’ ( my autism made me plagerise! It’s because you are racist! ) which rather throws other people with these identities under a bus. Then he chose to bully and intimidate those revealing the truth with legal threats whilst creating even dafter lies to try to cover his original lies. All of these choices he made kept his story in the papers.
JA is not the victim here, he is the perpetrator who created everything that happened to him. He chose his death too and in doing so he escaped his own pain and bequeathed it to his children and family instead.
He was a coward in life, too scared to live a life achieved on his own merits and too cowardly to face reality replacing his fantasy at the end. Bereaving his children to avoid accountability for his own choices and actions was the ultimate act of egotistical cowardice. I am reminded of Joey Essex’s comments on his Mother’s suicide when he was a child, ‘Mum escaped her pain but what about me?’

All absolutely true.

'And all those posters complaining about the ‘hounding’ of JA by the ‘relentless’ press. I have never noticed this defence of other people whose ill gotten gains are expounded by the press.
...
Does hounding only happen if you feel sympathetic to the person being investigated by the press? But never if you don’t?
Is this some sort of irregular verb that changes from ‘held accountable’ to ‘hounded’ depending on the subject of the verb?'

Yes indeed. If the subject of the verb is anywhere right of Marx, we're definitely in they shall be 'held accountable territory'. Anyone else, is hounded, hunted, torn apart. See the lovely 'good' law project latest vomit. I won't link to it here.

And Kathleen Stock did NOTHING wrong. She Was attacked, threatened and hounded out of her job at Sussex University by people who didn't like her stating that biological sex is real. And most of the press said nothing. No wonder she feels a bit bitter.

Edited

I didn’t follow it closely, I’m amazed this was allowed. And yes it must be something to have seen a man fabricating wildly last and fettered at a top university.

If JA had chosen to live his life on his merit alone he would still be alive.

And all those posters complaining about the ‘hounding’ of JA by the ‘relentless’ press. I have never noticed this defence of other people whose ill gotten gains are expounded by the press. How many of those complaining about the hounding of JA have complained about the hounding of Nigel Farage? Nigel Farage is truly vlified, is threatened and other political leaders repost images threatening him with death and it’s widely regarded as all hilarious. Where are these posters angry condemnation of the hounding of NF, or any of the other public figures?

Does hounding only happen if you feel sympathetic to the person being investigated by the press? But never if you don’t?

Is this some sort of irregular verb that changes from ‘held accountable’ to ‘hounded’ depending on the subject of the verb?

I can tell you now if Farage died, the posts would be repulsive. Now that is pitchfork behaviour. He's hounded left right and centre. God forbid if people get wind of it that you like him or vote Reform.

How many people on this thread could even name another professor at Cambridge University let alone have such strong views about their research, personal qualities and now death?
As I said: batshit.

That's because they aren't lying fantasists who tout media attention

'you’re using Google as if you have any knowledge on anything pertaining to Black American race history let alone academics and commenting to add nothing of value'

'you have no lived in experience but I’m sure Google has given you the authority to feel like you do.'

  • I studied the US civil rights movement and subsequent race relations up to 1975 as part of my history degree.

I respect that this is only a small amount of knowledge in comparison to personally living in Chicago in these times, but on the other hand, isn't insistence that only people with 'lived experience' can comment on race-related issues partly what caused wokeism in the first place?

As for academics, I have read Sowell, McWhorter, Loury and others and see no reason why I should not comment on them.

Forgot to add.

Your race relations component for your degree goes very silent on the fact Biden was against bussing, didn’t want his kids to be growing up in a racial jungle.

Your entire posts on here that I have observed show what agenda you have.

DestituteDesperate · 16/08/2026 09:22

A great article, from the very beginning I pointed the finger heavily at Cambridge and Academia and institutions that are deliberately hand picking woefully inadequate diversity picks. If you’re a fantasist that repeatedly was promoted without any due diligence, why wouldn’t you continue to receive the pay and plaudits?

People can blame JA and I agree with the sentiment but the issue I take umbrage is why is this discriminatory in practice not being challenged? Why is it certain people can be thrust into positions without merit.

I’ve seen people claiming that those that exposed him were racist yet completely ignore Black Cambridge Professors have been talking with anonymity to avoid a backlash for stating the plagiarism allegations had merit and answers were needed.

This culture of branding people some sort of phobic has made genuine debate on credibility and integrity hard to have when even Black scholars are anxious of the back lash they’d face. The fact they concur with the allegations against JA means the backlash comes from one faction.

DestituteDesperate · 16/08/2026 09:32

Cambridge - a hot bed of the left were facing criticism on their lack of diversity.

Their answer was to pick a black professor, from a poor background, a victim of racism, with autism and use him to shield them from any debate or criticism.
They insinuated anyone questioning JA were racist that very pet I mentioned on a previous post.

When they realised their pet become a liability, they publicly stated they would have an investigation, now with his death, it’s being used as a shield for them against their behaviour.

a useful pet is a now a dead pet and certain people can continue their narrative.

(Now ex Professor) Kathleen Stock. White. Female. Academic. Stated biological sex is real. Outcry from a certain factions - bullying, rape threats, hounded out of her job. Press and media reaction - Silence. Sussex University - no support whatsoever. So what is going on? No virtue signalling celebrities or MPs calling out those who hounded her. Why? It's not rocket science.

The philosophy professor faced a resounding lack of institutional support as the campaign against her intensified.

Funny someone was doing the left’s usual ‘bonkers thread’ over a ‘random academic’ but when Maya was brought up, said poster went silence.

They love trying to dictate debate and when it doesn’t go their way, they’ll try minimise the debate and imply it’s all a storm in a tea cup over someone you don’t know. We are speaking out of the principle of what treachery is happening in schools, workplace, Government and the legislative.

What happened to Stock was reprehensible and their silence was defeating. ‘punch a TERF’ etc

Remember the TRA throwing glitter in a black TERFS braids? They knew exactly what they were doing targeting her hair but these obvious racial undertones are completely ignored because they’re the anti racist etc campaigners.

Their defiance at voter ID was because we are less likely to have ID because we are poor, completely ignoring you need ID to claim benefits etc so if we can show them for that, why not at the polling booth.

The patronising racial bias and harmful rhetoric is coming from those that purportedly are staunch anti racists. The most harmful rhetoric facing women comes from those that are staunch anti TERFS.

Yes. Horrible as it is, I think PP probably has it right. A useful pet and now a useful dead pet. While I am absolutely certain that no one on any side of the debate wanted him to die, his death is certainly more useful to his supporters than his opponents. I hope I’m being too cynical, but from how he was treated in life, I don’t think so.

Phewmcgrew · 16/08/2026 09:50

I don’t. Firstly she describes him as a young man. He wasn’t. He was 41. That is not young. Most people hit the pinnacle of their careers in their 40s. People who want to remove personal responsibility from him call him young. He was a fully adult man and had been for a considerable time.

Furthermore Ardey was not a passive recipient of other people’s actions. He was an active player. Others did not thrust him into the limelight. He was actively doing that himself through the media profile and backstory he created for himself, and through the public engagements he sought and created. He was preparing to thrust himself more into the spotlight by going on a tour to promote his autobiography.

He was also, through his academic work, an active proponent of the identity politics that helped him to become a professor at Cambridge. Which makes claims he was a victim of identity politics harder to make.

Ardey was not a vulnerable man before his lies were brought to light. He had done exceptionally well out of them, becoming Professor at one of the world’s best universities, having a fairly successful media personality and public engagements career and an autobiographical book deal, launched in USA and UK. He was a huge success.

He became vulnerable after his fantasy came crashing down. Everyone is vulnerable if their world falls down around them, no matter the reason for this.

Cambridge do have responsibility for enabling someone like Ardey, but he was an active player too, and an active creator of the identity politics culture that Cambridge were enacting.

Compare it to Labour ignoring and demonising the family of Rhiannon Whyte. Terrible politics. Blatant, clumsy and insulting.

ilovebrie8 · 16/08/2026 09:59

Cambridge were obsessed by DEI that overrode common sense and checking his background.

This is Cambridge not just any university with alumni like Steven Hawking!

They are truly a laughing stock to put it mildly.

Arday was put in the job by DEI and the truth brought him down.

He conned and lied his way into a top position. Lauded and financial rewards heaped upon him. He waved the race card every time he was challenged about his abilities and achievements. This resulted in one journalist being investigated by the police for four months. He called students racist to their face. Many students got much lower grades than predicted because of his lack of teaching. Was he really qualified to teach at all? Lot of questions need answered.

Exactly!
Rhiannon’s family have been completely ignored, and where was the concern and reflection for Ann Widdecombe an elderly woman murdered who has been in politics all her life. It’s madness.

The left are going to realise they’re the problem, years ago it would have been unheard of black and ethnic minorities openly being Tory MPs and now we have the brilliant Kemi as leader, Rishi the former PM and others holding positions of prestige.

Traditional minorities are now becoming the target for standing up against the completely bonkers push to label everyone as something problematic.

See the backlash Suella Braverman faced after she went public with the issues the UK is facing.

See how on the shade borough and other platforms, how Kemi is called a racial slur in almost every comment. These are left leaning platforms, see who JKRowling and others have death threats which gain nothing but countless debate about how hateful and evil they are.

Look at how Trump galvanised black and Latinos to vote for them on a ballot that wanted to end illegal immigration, take a hardline on welfare towards said illegals, whilst saying they needed to hire the best people do the job irrespective of race etc.

Even minorities are sick of the ridiculous things being peddled in their name, in fact it puts a target on our back when it inevitably goes wrong. Instead of hiring the best candidates you hire a diversity hire under qualified which will then make it harder for those that are deserving of such roles.

Black and Asians are now publicly supporting and serving in traditionally centre right parties, Zia at reform made a lot of people embarrassed because he personifies everything the left claimed that party hate…

White people are sick of being silenced and painted at privileged when their children, especially white working class boys do the worst at school or their girls being raped and these children are blamed for not shutting up for the good of diversity.

They’re all going to start vocally supporting more groups like restore etc

There’s those quietly waiting for put an X against reform or other parties because of what is happening that protecting biology can deem you to be hateful.

Trump got the largest share of black male votes despite the left saying he was a racist.

mark my words, these pets the left view us as, will be in for a shock.
