Just putting this out there, but just heared.A sad end to a whole sorry mess.

The story of his student is also directly relevant to the crux of the story, which is the concerns about academic standards at an elite British university.

How many more times is this going to be compared to a "white professor"? This is way more complex than skin colour. Are those who are quick to call racism, aware of how universities work?

What? Why?

If that has to be explained, you need to go back to learning about how to be a decent human. Many of us learned by the time we started school.

Nobody cared about trying to make posters feel guilty last night, on the back of JA's death. That was far more classless. Ghouls searching out existing threads in days' old discussion about the original plagiarism and other lies.

Yep, Cambridge were Arday’s enablers - so desperate were they to have a poster boy who ticked all the DEI boxes.

I’m really uncomfortable that some people seem to be suggesting that if someone takes their own life that somehow proves that anyone criticising them was in the wrong.

Apart from anything else, it’s a disastrous idea in terms suicide prevention. “If you kill yourself, everyone will see how wrong they were to hold you to account and you will be vindicated” is not a good message to be sending out to people who may be struggling.

University students are perfectly at liberty to discuss their experience of being taught by academics with whoever they choose, including the press. To judge them for doing so because the academic subsequently takes their own life is unfair and unreasonable.
