I have an almost genius level IQ, mild ND, and an absolutely ridiculous lack of drive. I accidentally ended up as a COO of a tech company with no qualifications, did an excellent job, then realised when I was applying for other jobs that I was applying for jobs I would hate to do.

I work for a charity now, and although I'm fairly tactical with my efforts, I think I'm excellent value for money.

My dad says that he should have just done something that made a lot of money, but he's just like me - he quit London to live in a caravan he hated the corporate world so much.

I've used a variety of different soundtracks for it but Mahler is my favourite. Especially on episodes featuring Kat Slater.

When people are religious, or have views that clearly stem from religious teaching (pretty much any and all ) my honest first thought is 'how the fuck do you believe that stuff'. I know how that sounds and I bite my tongue constantly because I'll get called judgemental or disrespectful, but that's genuinely what goes through my head.
What actually gets me is how much power it's been handed. It's shaped laws, education, healthcare, whole countries, basically unchallenged, for centuries.
And I don't think it does more good than harm. Not societally, not even close, and not on an individual level either half the time. It controls people. Most don't even clock how much it's dictated what they're "allowed" to want or feel or question, that's not comfort that's a cage with nicer curtains. It was made by people to control other people, and it's done that job brilliantly.
It's not just the big stuff either, the wars, the cover ups, the abuse, how it treats women and gay people. It's the small stuff. The guilt. The shame around your own body. Kids being taught they're born "sinners" before they're even old enough to question any of it.
It's not just institutions that get me either. It genuinely baffles me that so many people believe this stuff. Not nasty about anyone specific, I just can't compute that level of certainty with that little proof.
And some things should never get a pass because it's "faith". No one should be able to refuse a child medical treatment on religious grounds. No one should keep kids from a proper education because it clashes with scripture. No one should be marrying kids off, cutting kids, or telling them who they might love one day is sinful, in the name of God (insert chosen flavour).
And if you say any of this, you're the disrespectful one. That's the genius of it, it's built itself a shield where criticising it is treated as worse than the actual harm it does.
Not saying force anyone out of it. I just think we'd be better off without it (not that I think that’s possible now it’s here ) and I'm done pretending I think it's harmless.
