I’ve been following this trial, and there’s a number of red flags that could potentially indicate there’s more going on here.

Her internal temp was 27.8degrees Celsius, having only been in the snow for about 15mins?

Her fingerprints were not found on the exercise bands or the knife she apparently used to harm herself.

Apparently she crushed and took medication in an attempt to commit suicide, but the levels were nowhere near close enough to cause harm. What nurse crushes meds and wouldn’t know the small levels she took would do zero harm? Equally, the injuries she apparently caused herself were superficial… what nurse wouldn’t know what major arteries to target?

Her husband has unaccounted for time in his journey to CVS, at least 15minutes even though the drive should have taken 3. He can’t explain that. Can’t explain why it took twice the time it should have to return home either.

During the time he should have been at CVS, there was an email sent from a device of his at his home.

Patrick apparently left the house at 5.15pm. He and Lindsay spoke on the phone at 5.34pm, and he said it was a normal call. He arrives home approx 6pm. So she would have had to fatally harm all three of her children, which takes much longer than people think it does, go upstairs, crush and take medication, harm herself repeatedly, before pushing the bed to the window and jumping out. All in less than 25mins? Yet her internal temperature was just over 27 degrees, something which would likely only happen with a much more prolonged exposure to cold.

Her husband apparently started dating his now wife mere months after his children were murdered. He’s now married to that woman….

The whole case it tragically sad, and there’s no doubt this woman was suffering from PPP and crying out for help, but there are definitely unanswered questions and I can see why people are suspicious.

Edited

There's a similar case in Ireland where a mother (also a nurse) killed her 3 children in an equally horrific, albeit it different, manner and then failed to kill herself. I've always found it strange if you could find it in yourself to do that to your kids how are you not able to do it to yourself. I would have thought the opposite, that you'd be so distraught you'd make sure it worked. Grossly awful to speculate about I know but I found it strange

I would bet a years salary that she didn’t do it

If she didnt do it though why is she not saying that? I don't get why everyone thinks she's innocent. Surely if she was she'd be saying what really happened etc?

There was a case many many years ago in Scotland (I was a child) and the woman pled guilty. Years later it emerged that she pled guilty because she blamed herself for not protecting the child from her husband. It only came out after years of treatment/therapy for her believed mental illness. He did eventually admit it as well.

It’s worth bearing in mind that this isn’t a murder trial to determine innocence or guilt, it’s a trial to determine whether it was insanity or pre-meditated. She absolutely did do it, it’s just a case now of determining what the outcome will be. Imprisonment/death penalty (if she’s in a state with the death penalty) or commitment to a psychiatric facility.

MyKindHiker · 12/08/2026 13:37

I haven't been close to the trial - all I knew was a poor woman suffered a psychotic break and the question was whether she was not guilty by reason of insanity.

It hadn't occurred to me the husband could himself have done it and she in her medicated and confused state been convinced it was she who had.

But are we totally a million percent certain her husband didn't stage it as a murder-suicide, calling the authorities when he was convinced she was already dead?

allthingsinmoderation · 12/08/2026 13:46
  1. i think there is no doubt that Lindsey Clancy was mentally unwell and wasn't medically managed well.
  2. i know the trial isnt looking at wether LC killed her children or not rather her level of responsibility for the killing regarding mental illness.
  3. Has she confessed to killing her children specifically and is that confession reliable as she is mentally ill?
Sparrowsandbudgies · 12/08/2026 13:48

I’m not convinced that Patrick did it but then I’m not convinced that he didn’t either. I would hope that after all this time those who are involved would have had these suspicions and investigated them - surely it wouldn’t take armchair sleuths to get that to happen?

I do find it very interesting that the first thing she said after gaining consciousness was to ask whether she had a lawyer. Why would she ask that if she didn’t think someone else was trying to frame her for it?

The whole case is so weird.

placemats · 12/08/2026 13:53

If found innocent of premeditated murder in the first degree, which is the charge from the prosecution, then Lindsay will spend 40 days being assessed in a mental health facility. If further treatment is deemed necessary, then she'll be transferred to a psychiatric facility.

It's a big if though.

MyPurpleHeart · 12/08/2026 14:04

Her husband is a selfish no good lying sack of shite

Did they investigate whether he knew his new wife when this happened?

OhBotherSaidPoo · 12/08/2026 14:06

He did it

placemats · 12/08/2026 14:08

Patrick Clancy isn't on trial for being a negligent husband and father, though, ironically he's suing the psychiatrist for negligent treatment of his wife. Lindsay is making a separate negligence lawsuit.

So many experts in body temperature, fingerprints, word usage. Why don’t they call all the posters here up to investigate the crime! I’ve already read a few glaring mistakes which could be rectified with a quick google search or actually following the case.

Maybe a few of you could look at the 3 little children she murdered. The case is interesting but not the way so many are posting about it.

Care to explain further?

seanconneryseyebrow · 12/08/2026 14:26

@Sometimeswinning . I disagree, I think its really good to explore these things. This woman could be the victim of coercive control and abuse and an extreme miscarriage of justice is occurring. We dont know. The public knowing about it, questioning, is what exposes these things. Remember the Guildford Four? Lucy Letby? (I think she may be innocent too). I dont think just because we aren't experts means we shouldn't question. Its how these things get uncovered.

Atschjvkbgj · 12/08/2026 14:33

Look at the Andrea Yates case for an example of post partum psychosis. That husband was vile

NowIsTheWinterOfOurDiscontent · 12/08/2026 15:00

Just to be clear - she has LITERALLY admitted being physically (not legally) responsible for killing the kids. She agreed to a "specification of facts" in an open courtroom, when questioned by the judge, with her lawyer sitting right next to her. That said that SHE killed them by asphyxiation.

So even if PC did do it, it's too late, she has waived her right to blame him in this murder trial.

The only question is whether she is

  1. criminally guilty (as she understood what she was doing and that it was wrong); OR
  2. she is not guilty by reason of insanity ie she didn't know what she was doing or she didn't understand that it was wrong.

"Premeditation" is a red herring. You can plan to do something but still be insane.

PS wtf with the prosecutor wearing these effing bows in her hair "to remember Cora, who liked bows".

She has no memory of killing the kids.
She was told she killed the kids firstly by her husband and then by the police.
False memories are real and very powerful, especially when taking as many medications affecting the brain and memory as she was.
It's very possible she confession because she genuinely believe she had, and its only now, with the inconsistencies in timeline, fingerprints, knots, fall, blood splatter, medication, husbands testimonies, emails, that she's starting to realise she didn't do it, or at least not in the way he (the husband) said she did.

It’s one thing to question. Another to desperately grasp at arguments and make up
entire scenarios.

Either she has psychosis and this is her defence or people are saying he killed the kids with absolutely no proof other than social media gossip.

Most of the stuff (if not all) on these posts about PC can be explained away or reasonable doubt is there.

seanconneryseyebrow · 12/08/2026 15:30

Well please explain it away - genuinely I would love to hear it.

What’s the question you have about him?

seanconneryseyebrow · 12/08/2026 15:58

Well all of the PC stuff you already mentioned you could apparently explain away. The timeline, the email, the fact her body temp was so low, the fact she was supposed to have confessed to him but had a crushed windpipe i believe, no fingerprints or DNA on the bands except his, the cuts on her throat couldn't have been done by her...I could go on.

Sometimeswinning · 12/08/2026 16:07

But that’s after keeping track of the trial and not deciding I know better.

You mentioned her body temp. She was lying on the ground. It was January. She had lost blood. She was in shock. Her core temp was taken at the hospital not where and when she was found. This isn’t me this was the expert talking about it at trial. It is more than possible her temp would have been that after a couple of hours in the condition she was in.

I was wondering this too.

So what would happen if - now - she decides she didn’t actually do it?
