Guilty as sin and should be locked up for life. She took her time to take her three luttle
children to the basement and strangled them one by one with her training rope. Imagine the absolute horror they felt looking into their mother's demonic eyes while she was draining them of life.

She asked her husband to run errands and then picked up the phone during the act before completing it.

Also if she didn't realise what she was doing at the time surely now that she is 'back to normal' she wouldn't want to avoid jail time to pay for the horrific crime she'd perpetrated?

The lawyer is trying to find anybody to
blame but the actual murderer of the three little innocent kids. I am afraid she might get away with it and my heart is breaking for the little angels when I imagine what was unfolding in that basement.

Are you sure beyond all reasonable doubt that a clearly mentally ill woman on masses of drugs confession can be relied on? Was their any actual evidence other than a severely mentally ill womans confession that she killed the children.

Widowwith2 · 12/08/2026 21:03

I believe he didnt want her to die because if she did he would of been investigated. He told her she done this. Also the fact that the baby was able to be brought back how is it medically possible if they had been injured nearly an hour prior and if she did do it.There is noway she could of done that to the baby and then jumped out the window causing her body temp to drop in say 15/20 mins. Also her thyroid was crushed none of it adds up at all.The whole thing is beyond heartbreaking

Seems like the TikTok brigade is out in force. Her husband didn’t do this! Get a grip.

She was clearly unwell but I seriously doubt she was psychotic. I believe she snapped and this was a (triple) murder suicide. Occam’s razor.

Agreed.

Are you aware of how catastrophically she was let down by every single medical professional she encountered?

Are you aware that the prosecution case has been an unmitigated disaster so far because every witness they have called has described Lindsay as nothing short of a perfect, loving, caring and attentive mother? A nanny, her ex husband, her friends, her ex FIL? They’ve all been called by the prosecution and have essentially just ended up being positive character witnesses for the defence. Not one of them can fault her as a mother.

If she did this, which she likely did, she had a complete and utter psychotic break. What happened was horrific, she was let down by everyone around her, a pinch of compassion wouldn’t go astray.

I have a lot of compassion and my heart is breaking for the real victims of this horrific crime - the children who experienced something I cannot comprehend as a mother.

She may have been a wonderful mother up until she decided to strange all of her three innocent babies. Btw it takes around 7-8 minutes to kill a child by strangulation. Chris Watts had been an amazing father until he decided to strangle his wife and kill his two children. He had been jailed for life.

Whatever mental issues she was having in my opinion doesn't absolve her of what she had done. Like I said if she didn't realise at the time - no mother would be able to go on knowing what she had done to her babies.

I sort of have to agree with this. I’ve been watching the trial a lots and yes, she was a brilliant mum, until she wasn’t.

Before the trial started I was fully if the opinion that LC should not be in trial and that she must of been totally psychotic. However I’m struggling to marry this viewpoint with the evidence now. There is no evidence so far that LC was psychotic prior to the murders. Anxious, yes. Depressed, yes. Every mental health professional has said that she didn’t display any symptoms of psychosis.

HOWEVER, when I was postpartum I had extreme intrusive thoughts and I never told a soul. I was extremely mentally unwell, believed people were wanting to hurt my baby and actually spent time trying to seek o it evidence of this harm (which didn’t exist). I didn’t tell anyone how unwell my thoughts were.

The thing that swayed me was when LC woke up the first thing she said was ‘do I need a lawyer?’ Hmmmmmmmmm. Not ‘where are my kids?’ ‘What have I done’

So on that I would decide guilty if I was in the jury as it shows a level of awareness both before and after the murders that cannot explain how she could of done what she did.

I think those going on about PC are allowing themselves to be swayed by social media theories and it is very unfortunate. He seems off but I don’t think he did it.

Yes, no mother would be able to go on… and she’s been on suicide watch ever since. If she wasn’t now paralysed, I’ve my doubts she would still be here.

This woman was crying out for help, to her friends, her family, her husband, her MIL, countless medical professionals, suicide helplines. And got nothing. All she got was 13 different, extremely strong, medications in the space of 4 months. Anti psychotics, antidepressants, anti anxiety… she was no sooner put on one, than she was taken off and while withdrawing from the previous, dealing with the side effects of the new one. She was already fragile and the medical professionals around her destroyed her. Those nearest to her failed her.

She was completely and utterly failed along were her children. If she did this, and I believe it’s likely she did, she appears to have tried everything in her power to stop this.

Chris Watts wanted a new life… and there’s nothing more dangerous than a man who wants a new life.

Lindsay Clancy wanted help, and she was completely and utterly failed, time and time and time again.

Everyone is not psychotic, until the point when they are psychotic. And unfortunately Lindsay’s psychotic break has ended in the murder of her 3 children. It’s tragic.

And if, as you say and is true, it takes 7 or so minutes to kill a child in this way, does the timeline of events not raise questions to you? From 5.24pm she had 21 to 24 mins to murder her children, as well as speak with her husband on the phone at 5.34, then go upstairs from the basement, slash her neck and her wrists, remove her Apple Watch and place it neatly in the drawer (the drawer they failed to forensically assess btw), move her large sleigh bed across the room to the window and jump out?

And then be long enough in the snow for her core temp to drop to 27 degrees?

But not to have killed her little boy long enough so that he could be resuscitated by emergency responders when they arrived (approximately 6.40? Stand to be corrected but know he was clinically dead) and just about survive another 3 days.

Anyone would find all of that strange and have questions.

I don’t think anybody would find that odd at all. Many people don’t and believe the timeline. What you are suggesting is what? He did it before and then went out to give himself an alibi? So how did y it explain why the baby wasn’t dead yet?

people just don’t want to believe a mother could do this. She did!

I don’t think she was psychotic though- she was too lucid and grounded in reality before and directly after the crime according to many testimonies.

Whenlifegiveslemons · 12/08/2026 22:33

PrincessDonutTheQueenAnneChonk · 11/08/2026 00:00

She has admitted she did it! I suspect a lot of people saying she is innocent are getting their information from TikTok which is spreading a whole lot of lies and disinformation.

There are so many cases where the suspect has admitted a crime but years later turns out to be coerced & admitted false guilt, under pressure.

socks1107 · 12/08/2026 22:35

Would people be trying to frame someone else if a dad had done this and was on trial. We’d be calling for him to have life in prison.

she did it, I believe she was psychotic and had a voice telling her to do it, she had begged for help in the months before and been put on multiple medications.

it is utterly tragic for those poor babies, the parents and wider family. What punishment she deserves I don’t know, certainly some form of sentence either in hospital or prison

Yes, and because she was certified as having mental health issues she may genuinely believe she did kill them (if she didn’t, just playing devils advocate) and so her admitting she did it may be real to her. She may think she was just so psychotic or mentally ill that she actually can’t remember but everyone else is adamant she did it, so she accepted she’d done it.

It is definitely a strange and sad case.

I am not following why this sounds odd. It sounds crazy and horrific and clearly absolutely mental but what are you suggesting as an alternative? Are you implying she didn't do it?

I understand why people try to find excuses for this woman as they cannot comprehend that a mother is capabale of committing such a horrific crime.

I struggle to believe she was able to murder the three babies but somehow failed to
unalive herself. I don't follow the case in detail but I believe multiple witnesses commented that all the cuts were superficial.

She was in no way lucid after the crime, as the emergency response team testified to, she suffered catastrophic injuries that paralysed her.

Like I said, everyone is not psychotic until they are.

I’ll have to respectfully disagree with you that this timeline does not raise queries, I can just about come upstairs and take my clothes off in the time it took for her to go downstairs, kill her 3 children one by one, take a phone call, come back up two storeys, self harm, move furniture, attempt suicide, then reach a core temperature of 8 degrees below hypothermic levels.

Like I’ve stated, I believe its likely this woman has carried out these heinous acts, but I firmly believe if she did, from the evidence given in court, that she had a complete psychotic break. A psychotic break she tried her very best to stop. And I hope she is treated with some semblance of compassion going forward.

I also believe that there are serious questions to be answered in the timeline of events leading up to this and there is a (likely small) possibility that her husband had some act, hand or part in this.

They managed to get the baby back, breathing on a ventilator for 3 days. (But then had to turn it off as he was brain dead and wasn’t able to breathe on his own).

While the cuts have been spoken about as superficial, they still required sutures and her husband and others said the bedroom was covered in blood, like it had been sprayed. And they were also started from the right hand side, not the usual way a right handed person would harm themselves.

I believe the timeline raises queries. Her body temperature raises major queries. And yes, I believe there is a very small chance that she did not do this, that there is a possibility her husband did this. Could potentially have been tampering with her medication for a number of months (he was found with a number of meds in his private possession). Threw her from the window first, then murdered the children, then went about the errands.

I believe that scenario is unlikely, but not impossible.

If anyone has seen 12 Angry Men… “but it’s possible”

AhHereNow · 12/08/2026 23:06

As an aside, for anyone interested in jury service, motivations of different jurors/personalities etc 12 Angry Men is definitely my favourite movie of all time. 1957, b&w, pretty much filmed in one room, and absolutely epic. Would recommend and will probably watch for the umpteenth time this weekend.

I do think she was mentally unwell. I just don’t think it was psychosis. I think her mind was broken in many ways. I don’t think she should have gone to trial though, I think that shows a self- preservation that anyone truly remorseful for this crime would not have. But maybe she’s still mentally unwell now.

Regarding the time frame- yes with enough adrenaline she could have done all that in 45 mins. The body temp thing is misleading. She has serious injuries which can affect body temperature.

I believe she did it of course and the court case is not whether she did or didn't do it. They know that she did it. If there were any legitimate doubts about that it would be
investigated and found out. I don't believe her husband would be able to outsmart the police, the forensics and everybody else involved in this case. I am not interested in conspiracy theories.

They argue that she was incapacitated when she strangled her three children. I don't believe that. Somebody mentioned that when she woke up she asked if she needed a lawyer. That fact alone in my mind tells me everything I need to know. I'll say it again no mother would be able to go on knowing what they had done to her babies, let alone argue their case in court and try to defend their action and prove their 'innocence'.

Let’s be clear here, she has pleaded Not Guilty to murdering her children. She has not said she murdered her children, she does not remember. Her defence is that she was psychotic at the time of the murders, not that she was psychotic when she murdered them.

No mother who does not remember murdering their 3 children is likely to plead guilty.

The jury can return a number of verdicts - Not Guilty (Acquittal), Not Guilty by reason of Insanity, and Guilty.

There’s lot of chatter online that she has plead guilty, this is not true.

Sparrowsandbudgies · 12/08/2026 23:19

I think there is a basic lack of understanding about psychosis which is evident in many of the comments here and online. People seem to think you can’t be capable of having a normal conversation or planning anything if you have psychosis. This is simply not true.

I remember one particular story from one of my Mums (many) stays in psychiatric hospital whilst she was sectioned. She was sharing a room with a woman who basically convinced herself that a man she saw (never actually even said one word to) outside his house on her way to work was madly in love with her and she had to sell her house in order to move in with him: but they had to keep it a secret. So basically she continued working, contacted estate agents and set up the sale of her own house. She told the agents how excited she was to be in love and moving in with the man of her dreams. She continued her (very good) job, friendships, everything else right up until moving day when this man then had this - now homeless - woman turn up at his door, adamant she was moving in with him, with a moving truck on the doorstep. She then became utterly distraught and couldn’t understand why he didn’t want her. He ended up ringing 999 and she was sectioned.

Lots and lots of planning going on there.

I have lots of similar stories. My own Mum convinced herself that the advertiser at the local newspaper was in love with her and all the adverts had some sort of secret message for her. He had never met her, spoke to her etc. She was still taking me to school, behaving like a woman happily in love. But completely mad.

Sheldonsheher · 12/08/2026 23:22

Aside from the horror, and i can’t understand if you did this horrific murder if your own children would you even want to get a pardon by insanity and carry on with life?

I find the whole medical evidence interesting. The American approach is very medication focused, and the use of nurse practitioners instead of medical doctors quite interesting. I think this is where the NHS wants to go all medical practitioners and few actual doctors so it’s quite an interesting insight. Also the medical insights seem quite limited basically dishing out medication. Also very disjointed care and a lot of patient choice in America.

Yes I believe this could be true. She potentially had a psychotic break which lead to the murder of her children, and the catastrophic injuries and hospital admission and care ‘broke’ that psychotic break and brought her back to some normality.
