When was the last time you did a shot and how old are you?

Bonus points if you tell me what shot it was:

Me: 27, last month at my birthday party (tequila)
DH: 27 last month at my birthday party (jagerbomb, because he’s gross)
My dad: 72, last week at the pub with my nephew (who is 24) to celebrate DN getting some kind of gas safety certificate. He did a sambuca because he loves aniseed (🤢).
Step mum: doesn’t remember but “probably haven’t done on in 20 years”
My mum: 65, doesn’t do shots because “they’re gross”
DN: 18, did shots ON WEDNESDAY (!!!) but she is a student so I guess that’s acceptable.

I’m genuinely just curious. If you used to do shots back in your day but are now retired, tell me what your go to was.

Is there anyone (like me) that has never had a shot ? 😂

No there’s seemingly lots of people. My mum says she’s never had one but she says “they’re gross” which I think indicates she’s had at least one, maybe back in her miss spent youth 🧐. I was once on a work night out and a colleague said she’d never had a tequila slammer, I got her one and she spat it straight back out and asked “why does anyone do that?!” Which was very funny. She was our department head I was a bit scared she would hate me forever, but she didn’t.

Never. Late 50s. Just don't see the point of them.

58 and don't think I've ever done one, it wasn't a thing when I was young and I only really drink wine and beer now. I don't like most spirits and liqueurs.

Never I'm 60

Sometime around 2014. Was called a Squashed Frog. Somebody decided to buy a round of them and as I hadn't tried any shots beyond a couple of Tequila Slammers when I was about 25 before, I thought it couldn't be that bad. It was.

Only other shots I've done have been ginger and lemon or elderberry and thyme. They were much nicer.

I’m 66. Few months ago. On a girls day out (yes I realise we aren’t actually girls) baby Guinness. Also in the last year had Tequila Rose and B52s. I don’t actually drink that much except when I’m with this particular group.

Not regularly, but whenever the situation arises, if I'm not on the dry that night, I'll probably do one or two... if I'm on the dry, it's probably time to go home! 🤣
