When was the last time you did a shot and how old are you?

Bonus points if you tell me what shot it was:

Me: 27, last month at my birthday party (tequila)
DH: 27 last month at my birthday party (jagerbomb, because he’s gross)
My dad: 72, last week at the pub with my nephew (who is 24) to celebrate DN getting some kind of gas safety certificate. He did a sambuca because he loves aniseed (🤢).
Step mum: doesn’t remember but “probably haven’t done on in 20 years”
My mum: 65, doesn’t do shots because “they’re gross”
DN: 18, did shots ON WEDNESDAY (!!!) but she is a student so I guess that’s acceptable.

I’m genuinely just curious. If you used to do shots back in your day but are now retired, tell me what your go to was.

I'm 60. It was February 12th this year. I had those baby Guinness shots. Fell asleep standing up with my head on a bar stool.

About ten years ago. I don't drink anymoremid 30s.

Ten or eleven years ago. I'm 47

20 years ago it was red can't remember name of it,tasted akin to cough mixture.

Mid 40’s. Friday night at my friends birthday party. Baby Guinness. I said no to the second round which was Tequila Rose.

I'm 47 and last had a baby Guinness about 2 months ago.
I only drink a couple of times a year.

I re now..aftershock.

Never. Just had no interest in getting pissed.

I’m in my 60’s and have been drunk/tipsy less than a handful of times in my entire life (probably all happened late teens/early twenties) as I don’t like the feeling of not being in complete control.

DH doesn’t drink either so we don’t generally socialise with folk who prioritise alcohol. Still have loads of friends though.

About 20 years ago, Sambucca shot at a Christmas do, had been drinking wine most of the night.

Felt so dreadful next day, never had one since.

I wasn't a heavy drinker anyway so think it probably would have had no effect on someone more used to shots. 😫

I'm 62. Yesterday.

I'm at a festival with friends, we all camp together (mostly in campervans and motorhomes now) and some of us make our own alcohol flavours.

I have brought Werther's vodka. Another friend has blackcurrant and liquorice vodka. There's also some supermarket cream liqueurs floating about. We're all mid 50s to mid 60s, probably did about 6 over the course of the day. I only drink water/diet coke the rest of the day nowadays though......

47, firebomb shot (no idea what it actually is) with the bride at her wedding a month ago.

My husband was given a shot last night at friends. He’s 64

Never. I'm 62 and don't drink, rarely have but when I did it was the occasional whisky and ginger with ice

Last night at eldest DDs hen do. Tequila rose. I used to love shots until one night I mixed too many and was very ill.
That was the first one since that fateful night!

37 and at lunch today when the waiter brought us limoncello with pudding. I feel like I have shots pretty regularly actually! Had genepy as a restaurant freebie when skiing at Easter, a few baby guinesses on a recent night out with best friend, tequila at the last reception mums drinks, the restaurant we had DH’s birthday party at makes their own fruit liquors so we served that with the pudding course…

Only ever done a shot once at a work party. It was flaming zambuca and I instantly felt quite ill. Never again.

Last night. Ouzo. And for no reason!

Last night - tequila! Last night of our holiday and DH thought it a good idea? I had it and went to bed 🤣

53 - last Friday - they were giving out tequila shots in the club I was at (I’d gone to see a friend DJ and there was ‘young people clubbing’ in the same venue… hence the shots.

Had baby Guiness shots with a few girls from the old rugby team in the spring - I'm 47. We've not rowdy or anything - never have been - it was just a bit of a tradition harking back to the old days. Oh and the barman gave them to us for free, so would have been rude to say no!

I don't think it counts but I had a Flaming Sambucca about 32 years ago . I didn't neck it in one though.
Then one I did neck was a Hibiscus juice in Egypt because it was so rank but it was considered rude to decline . This was 30 odd years ago .I don't think Hibiscus juice is alcohol.

I'm 60 , I don't drink , not for the last 20 years .

Couple of months ago. Limoncello at an Italian restaurant. I’m 41.
