God I love this song. The exquisite angst.

Alucard55 · 07/08/2026 21:12

Love both versions but there's a great Live Soft Cell version I've been listening to on repeat.

Oh my !
How I absolutely love to belt out and act out this song when I’m alone in the kitchen - it’s such a brilliant, haunting story and evokes so much emotion .
Didn’t think so many like minded people were out there .. yay ..going off to sing it now! X

Snapespeare · 07/08/2026 21:15

There is the most beautiful version, Marc Almond and the Jools Holland Big Band. Hootenanny 2001.
