BIL using our bedroom for intimate purposes

We arrived home from holiday last night. BIL has kindly been cat-sitting for us, popping in twice a day, but not sleeping here overnight. This is important.

This afternoon, I've been sorting out a few things in our room. The sun was shining in, and as it hit the mirror I could clearly see strange marks - handprints, quite high up, and what I think is a willy mark at hip height. They are quite noticeable, so I'm sure they weren't here before we went away.

I suspect BIL has been entertaining himself in our bedroom, either alone or with a partner. He's single and the thought of him bringing a hook-up into our bedroom makes me feel ill.

I've changed the sheets (just in case his activities culminated in our bed), but I don't know if I can bear the thought of him cat-sitting for us again if he does this. But DH will think it's strange if we don't have him back, and DCat has never been to a cattery.

Is there a way I can subtley dissuade him from using our home in this way, without offending him?

I've added photos, but they aren't very good because my phone doesn't seem to focus on the mirror surface.

Ok , so I have a piece of forensic software I use for my job and just put the photos through. I can tell you now your suspicions are correct and he is the owner of a piercing known as a Prince Albert. I'm sorry OP but he was also wearing a wig at the time.

I’m fairly sure rhis isn’t what you’re thinking op.

Thank goodness someone is saying this. I think the o.p is aiming for classic thread status but......

Aren't the marks more likely to be from the cleaner and left over cleaning product she didn't clean off - sometimes these can be hard to see when still wet , depending on the light when cleaning.

The cleaner usually wears gloves when she's working. These hand prints look like bare hands to me.

On his head?

Forget the human drama, OP—how is the cat's emotional stability holding up under the weight of Willygate?

How tall are you?

5'8" and BIL is...maybe 6 feet? I'm not exactly sure. He's taller than me and shorter than DH.

I think they look like hands with gloves to me, at least the kind of gloves I use when cleaning and look like marks I'd get if I'd not cleaned where I'd put my hands whilst cleaning. But if you prefer to think your BIL used your mirror for sex acts go for it! Is he hot?

Could it have been a gay orgy? One of those flash things that goes viral and 74 gay men might have turned up for an orgy in your bedroom, with one of them being pressed up against the mirror due to massive overcrowding.

How do you know it is your BIL's willy? Have you measured it?

That is a terrible image! But I think our neighbours would have mentioned if dozens of men had been going in and out while we were away.

Not to mention all the “Yes! Yes! More!” noises.

desperatemum1234 · 03/08/2026 23:31

I’ve never encountered this penis-mark on mirror scenario before. I must lead a sheltered life!

Tryanalogue · 03/08/2026 23:39

Mirror, mirror, on the wall,
Who’s got the smudgiest willy of all?

Ohnobackagain · 03/08/2026 23:42

@WhatTheMirrorSaw you could in innocently ask BIL if he noticed the cat going into your bedroom … see if he blushes 😬

I can't quite imagine, but I think he must have been leaning against the mirror with no underwear on, and his arms stretched up, palms pressed against the mirror. But why?

I’m sorry,I’m in bed dh is asleep,I had to stop myself laughing out loud.

Capybarachocolate · 03/08/2026 23:56

Can you ask neighbours for any ring doorbell footage?

‘Hello neighbour, one of the days DBIL carried a big package (ha ha) into the house- he thinks, please can you check every day and show me as we could really do with this big package drama being put to bed’ (haha)

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 03/08/2026 23:59

You must have seen some very strange Willies in your time OP to think the marks on the mirror are a willy! All the marks just look like random cleaning marks to me.

VeganStar · 04/08/2026 00:08

I’m sure there’s an innocent explanation.
Maybe your bil came out of the shower dressed only in a towel and saw the cat carrying a half dead mouse into your room. He gave chase to rescue the poor unfortunate creature then just as he almost caught up with it , the cat stopped, causing your bil to trip and go sprawling across the room where his willy splodged all up against the mirror creating the imprint.

SaraHoliday · 04/08/2026 00:17

Weren't these photos of marks on a leather bag a few days ago? 😂

LadyBeatriceBeaHiggins · 04/08/2026 00:25

The willy aspect is a wet flop @WhatTheMirrorSaw

Based on these photographs alone, it is not possible to identify the exact cause with certainty, but the marks do have characteristics that make some explanations more likely than others.

General observations

The surface appears to be a mirror viewed under strong directional light. The white areas are not sharply defined scratches or chips; instead they appear as films, smears, or residue sitting on the surface, visible because the light is reflecting at a shallow angle.

The marks have:

  • Diffuse, cloudy edges rather than crisp boundaries.
  • Curved and elongated shapes.
  • No obvious cracking pattern.
  • No radial fractures that would suggest impact damage.
  • No evidence that the reflective backing has failed (which usually produces black or permanently transparent spots).

Likely causes

Hand or finger oils (Most likely)

The second image especially resembles a partial palm or finger contact that has dried and become visible under grazing light.
Human skin leaves:

  • oils
  • sweat
  • salts

These residues often become almost invisible until sunlight or a bright LED strikes the mirror at an angle.
Probability: High

Cleaning residue

Another very common explanation is:

  • glass cleaner allowed to dry
  • soap residue
  • detergent
  • microfiber cloth residue
  • hard-water minerals

These frequently produce cloudy patches exactly like those shown.
Probability: High

Condensation marks

If someone touched the mirror while it was damp (for example after a shower), minerals from skin oils can remain after the moisture evaporates.
Repeated condensation can make these marks progressively more noticeable.
Probability: Moderately high

Cosmetic or aerosol deposits

Products such as:

  • hairspray
  • deodorant
  • perfume
  • furniture polish
  • air freshener

can settle on nearby mirrors.
These deposits are often uneven and create cloudy shapes.
Probability: Moderate

Transfer from another object

The elongated mark in image three could be from something soft resting against the mirror, such as:

  • clothing
  • towel
  • rubber item
  • packaging

Pressure can transfer residue without leaving sharp edges.
Probability: Moderate

The third image

The third photograph is the most interesting.
It shows several parallel streaks with a wider translucent area. That pattern is consistent with something being wiped across the surface while a residue remained behind.
Examples include:

  • wiping with a damp cloth that contained detergent
  • wiping over greasy fingerprints
  • wiping before the cleaner had evaporated

The streaks are much more characteristic of a cleaning action than an impact.

Sorry but this thread has got me proper weak mun 😂😂😂

Just look him straight in the eye and simply say " Oi, why were you rocking with your cock out and molesting my mirror? In future please stay awake from my traumatized cat... Thank you kindly."

Sorted mun 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

It's a real waste of a good thread if you don't share your suspicions with DH & BIL and report back!

DH is at work, and it doesn't seem like the sort of conversation you could have when one person is in a busy office.

But also, I'm in two minds whether or not to mention it to DH at all. He's quite protective of his DB, and historically he's been very reluctant to say anything that might upset his family. The most likely outcome is that he'll be irritated at me for putting him in an awkward position.

Sounds like he out himself in an awkward position. I can't quite envisage how it would get smushed up against your mirror as well as his hands.

Are you sure its not a banana?
