So why are you awake.

I'm awake as I have an appointment at the breast clinic this morning due to pain and a lump I've found. Have barely slept and my stomach feels like it's in knots 🥺 I'm 36 with 2 young children and the thought I'm of leaving them makes me feel sick.

I’ve got breast cancer and a just turned 7 year old. I feel you fear to my core. I’m in hospital recovering from a mastectomy.

Take it all one step at a time. You don’t have cancer until you do. You don’t know types and grades and stages until you do. You don’t know your treatment plan until you do. One step at a time.

LBFseBrom · 31/07/2026 05:35

I'm awake because I often am awake in the night, I'm used to it.

Drought and wildfire worries. Wondering what kind of world our grandchildren have to grow up in and hoping they are going to be ten times smarter than us and find some solutions.

I worry about this too, there was one by me last week, you could see the smoke for miles.

3 year old woke me to be put back to bed at 3.15. Then 5 year old woke up and was spectacularly sick all over the bathroom doorway at 3.30. Woke again to throw up at 4am and 4.30. I've been sat dozing in the rocking chair next to her bed since the first throw up. I've had 1hr 40 mins sleep according to my watch. Cries we are going away for the weekend today.

Oh no, my anxiety would be sky high with all that vomiting. Hope they are feeling better soon so you can enjoy your time away

@itchyhandthank you so much for this- I just feel deep down I know it won't be good news. I'm wishing you all the very best for your recovery from the mastectomy, you are so brave! Don't have any further treatment scheduled?

Been there done that twice, both times a cyst. You’ve done the hard part which is the waiting, by the end of today you will know a lot more and chances are you will be in the vast majority of people who go to a breast clinic and find out their lump is harmless. Good luck!

Reporting for insomnia duty! Been struggling with sleep a lot at the moment for unknown reasons. Could be hormones, medication, some other reason… feel like my brain is permanently switched on. Pretty used to it though.

Should be my wedding anniversary today, but 'ex-DH' (not divorced yet) is away on a lovely holiday with his latest woman. So I'm feeling all kinds of emotions, but mostly very sad at how different my life is since we said "I do" 😞

Sorry to hear that, my ex husband cheated on me and then invited her to stay with us for new years, i found out he cheated the day after new years

Usual time for me.
I did have a 20 minute nap yesterday afternoon that turned out to be 3 hours.
Normally I am heading to the shower at 5.45 ready to leave for work at 6.30.
On my days off, I am still up and about by 5ish and out with the dog.

Yeah, there’ll be more treatment. But I take it one step at a time.

Omg that’s awful. Why do these men do such awful things 😢

HoobleDooble · 31/07/2026 05:44

DH's alarm went off at 5. He's gone to work and my brain woke up. Overthinking everything time for me now.

You have my sympathy, thats awful 😖

have you tried antihistamines (Like another poster said) OP? 💊
@inkgirl

Random questions, but have you:
had any recent changes to you medication?
has the medication itself had any changes to its ingredients? - it may
Changed washing powder or perfume?
Used a new sunscreen?
Possibly in Peri menopause?
Are you deficient in certain vitamins?
Is your bedroom dry? (the use of air-con or fans make my throat and skin dry)

I hope you get the answers you need 💕

Well I'm at that age for premi so that's possible but doctors thinks its my iron levels dropping again as I'm bruising easily too. I have come off most of my meds recently due to trying for a baby doctors recommended coming off them. I have tried antihistamines they only last a few hours

A mixture of debt worry- we went away for 4 days and I paid for everything on a credit card to the tune of around £1500 and now I feel sick. It was irresponsible of me but my dad took his own life a couple of months ago, I’ve been working really hard and I just wanted a change of scenery.
Also I’m on HRT, lost my patches so haven’t had one on for almost a week but I’ve needed to start taking the progesterone, unfortunately it makes me restless. I know it’s supposed to make you more relaxed and sleepy but my body is odd and likes to do the opposite of what any medication says on the tin.

Im so sorry, sounds like you're really going through it at the moment

Oh wow, couldn't imagine being up at this time all the time

My alarm always goes off at 4.45 even at the weekends. I'm a huge fan of keeping sleep in a pattern.

I'm on holiday from my school job at the moment and this is the time I get up, except today I slept through it until 5.30. However this is an exception, I was up driving teenagers home on weds night.

I am very much looking forward to more sleep in the evenings as the nights draw in. I love summer but my sleep window reduced to about 6hrs a night.

I love it. I had a morning paper round in the 90s which was 7 days a week and I had to be at the shop for 6am to collect the papers. I was 13/16 and so was on my bike every morning at that time.

Then when I had children, I loved when the babies had me up at 4/5 in the spring and summer and the peace it gave me.

As they became toddlers, that time of the day was the only time I could exercise so I used to go for a run before DH needed to leave the house for work.

Now they are late teens and in bed till 2pm so I get up and walk the dogs and do my YouTube workouts in the garage.

That said, if you ask me to stay up till 11pm it's basically impossible for me 🤣

I couldn't do that lol, I'm not really a morning person that said I was quite lucky when my kids were babies, they slept through quite early and would waje when my now ex husband had to get up for work
