Where Has It Come From?

I woke up this morning pre-dawn to go for a wee. My glasses fell off my nightstand and I groped for them on the floor. My hand touched a small-ish round object, I didn't know what it was, but still half-asleep just put it on my nightstand and went back to sleep.

When I properly woke up later and reached for my glasses, I saw it.

It's a Rolo chocolate! I have not, in living memory, ever bought Rolos, or eaten them. My husband has never bought me Rolos, nor does he eat any sweets. There is only him and I in the house!

Where has this Rolo come from that was on the carpet next to my bed, and should I be worried/freaking out???

@KitDeLuca no children, so no grandchildren, no wee visitors at all.
It doesn't feel melted. Husband asked what it tasted like and I almost shrieked -'I'm not going to EAT IT!'

ConfusedDefinitely don’t taste it! From what you’ve said so far my money is now on a teeny tiny rodent has dropped it there. Most likely a little brown fieldmouse missing it’s chocolate treat

There is someone living in your attic - they usually eat a pack of Rolos while they stand at the end of the bed, watching you. They dropped one and will be back tonight to retrieve it.

I’ve not read the full thread but surely by now someone has suggested your husband is having an affair and his chocolate-munching mistress dropped it on the floor?

This OP. He’s clearly lying even if he isn’t cheating.

IT’S IN THE BIN!

No phroggers, no mice, no sweetie-shop mistresses, no secret sweetie-eating husband … I am putting it down to Just One Of Those Things, and I don’t want to bother my Pretty Little Head any more about it. I am going to assume a long-forgotten Valentine’s Day or Easter Egg scenario happened and for some reason this decades old sweetie rolled out from under the bed … or something. Thanks all you Poirots and Holmes and Jessica Fletchers and just plain bonkers folk … you took the sting out of the myster …

@TheBewleySisters Damn, I was hoping for forensics at least, dusting for prints, the choccie popped in a plastic bag, via tweezers used by a gloved detective. And house to house enquiries…

BaguetteLady · 18/07/2026 00:37

Oh, just when I was hoping it would be sent to Scotland Yard for fingerprint testing and DNA analysis!

😂

FWIW my guess was that it had got caught in your hoover some time ago and fallen out when you hoovered

Or it was under the bed and got pulled out by the hoover.

When did you last move your bed?

Could you have been eating Roses in bed some time ago, dropped one, it ended up under the bed, lurked there for some time and yesterday you hoovered and dislodged it?

Skimmed the thread and tried to read all your posts but apologies if I missed it and anyone else asked but do you have a cleaner with a sweet tooth?
