Where Has It Come From?

I woke up this morning pre-dawn to go for a wee. My glasses fell off my nightstand and I groped for them on the floor. My hand touched a small-ish round object, I didn't know what it was, but still half-asleep just put it on my nightstand and went back to sleep.

When I properly woke up later and reached for my glasses, I saw it.

It's a Rolo chocolate! I have not, in living memory, ever bought Rolos, or eaten them. My husband has never bought me Rolos, nor does he eat any sweets. There is only him and I in the house!

Where has this Rolo come from that was on the carpet next to my bed, and should I be worried/freaking out???

Yes, but I'm here all day, and have only been as far as the garden since last week.

Do you have children or grandchildren who may have visited and been eating Easter eggs in your room? It looks a bit melted. It may have rolled in from elsewhere in the room where it’s been hiding for ages

It's your husband! 30 years of him cracking on he doesn't like chocolate and the whole time keeping his stash for himself - and eating them on your side of the bed too! 😆

I once found a sweet chestnut on the bedroom floor, and it had travelled from a bowl, on the coffee table, in the sitting room. I then found another one with little teeth marks...

Apart from denying all knowledge, what was your husband's reaction OP?

Maybe a creature has been in your house and brought it with them, leaving it as a gift for you (or dropping it and legging it when something startled them). Mouse/rat/squirrel maybe.

Have been out to lunch or dinner recently and something from a desert tray dropped into your bag?

@Waitingfordoggo I blooming hope not! I do live quite rurally, and there are red squirrels and deer around, but they are pretty shy and I've not seen any near the house.

@ginasevern he's pretty unfazed by it, not particularly bothered or interested, just shrugged.

It doesn't feel melted. Husband asked what it tasted like and I almost shrieked -'I'm not going to EAT IT!'

If there's only the two of you, and no-one else has been in the house, and it wasn't you then the only logical explanation is your husband. But why would he lie?

Guests have come to stay and you let them have your bed for the weekend? And they are chocaholics who missed one?

I’ve not read the full thread but surely by now someone has suggested your husband is having an affair and his chocolate-munching mistress dropped it on the floor?

Well, how fresh does it seem? Could you cut it in half and see if it's oldish or rock hard or whatever.

Not sure how this would help solve the mystery but all evidence should be admissible!
