Is pasta, cheese and gravy really a thing???

Apparently it's a known and common dish? Apparently you bike pasta, stir in grated cheese and put over instant gravy??? 🧐🧐🧐🧐

elQuintoConyo · 11/07/2026 20:04

Some people don't deserve taste buds!! 💩

There is a dish called poutine in Quebec which is chips covered in gravy and cheese, but I've never heard of it with pasta - the textures would all be wrong I think.

Was just about to say the same thing, I suppose pasta and cheese and gravy would be okay for some, but I think the soft and somewhat rubbery texture of the pasta wouldn't be as nice as the firmer deep fried potatoes, with white cheese curds and gravy, aka poutine.

Specialneedsnightmare · 11/07/2026 20:15

I feel sick just thinking about the prospect

Needmorelego · 11/07/2026 20:16

Does it mean American style gravy?
Which is some white gloop they eat with "biscuits" (aka a thing similar to scones).

AspiringChatBot · 11/07/2026 20:17

"Poutine pasta" is TikTok famous, and may have older roots in Québec, but it's cheese curds, not grated cheese. There may also be confusion as a particular type of meat heavy tomato-based pasta sauce is sometimes called "gravy" (or "meat gravy", "Italian gravy" or "Sunday gravy") in North America, so pasta and gravy can just be a regular pasta dish like baked ziti - although typically cheese would be melted on top, not grated in before the sauce.

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 11/07/2026 20:17

Sausage gravy.

Gettingbysomehow · 11/07/2026 20:18

Hell no thats horrible. Its the kind of thing you might eat if you were starving and there was literally nothing else in the house.

youalright · 11/07/2026 20:19

I've heard of it before but I've never tried it

Ninjabeastfeast · 11/07/2026 20:19

Jaysus. I assume it’s tub gravy granules made with just boiling water. And maybe a bag of ready grated mild cheddar. I know it’s not cool to judge but im struggling.

Blurgh 🤢
(but I hate gravy anyway).
If I was that desperate I would literally just eat plain pasta.
