Why do you need to know about that to be a politician?

considering they’re law makers wouldn’t an academic background be more applicable?

You need to know how real people think, that is why KS is on his way out the door.

The difference is Starmer said that he was whiter than white etc. Then accepted every freebee he could with 2 months of power. That is hypocrisy.

I wonder how long Mr Farage would have lasted on the beaches of France? He probably wouldn't be able to do half an hour on Blackpool beach today without whining that the seagulls had it in for him and stamping off in a temper.

He'd have been another Lord Haw Haw " Germany calling, Germany calling" .

And Farage said he was different to all the others and not part of the establishment, then goes accepting multi million pound bribes from billionaires. Not establishment at all 🤣🤣

We're only making plans for Nigel
We only want what's best for him
We're only making plans for Nigel
Nigel just needs this helping hand

I hope he is stumping up the cost of running a by-election out of his personal fortune. The public purse should not have to pay for this farce.

Any no point debating - even the Labour MPs decided that Kier was a shit Prime Minister. Let the people of Clacton decide if they back Farage. For Farage to become Prime Minister he needs to win public support for a general election, unlike the king of the north who just thinks he is entitled to rule.

Not even close to accepting 5 million bribe from a crypto billionaire.

False equivalence, and it's a technique called DARVO -

farage is a crook, he is admitting he is a crook by this move, but you love because of something about the boats, just admit it and be open and proud.

Excellent speech, and again he nails it perfectly - To a country brought up on the history of how young men fought on the beaches of France so that we could vote freely the idea that Labour would try to cancel elections is far far worse in the eyes of the majority in the UK than anything he has done or is supposed to have done, this is the point missed with Brexit and the shameful attempts to overthrow the will of the people, and again they still do not get it!

LOL, it was insincere and lacked any sort of credibility. Absolutely everyone is fully aware he’s trying to evade his responsibilities and the evidence of his wrongdoing. If Clacton are having a by-election, well, I guess they’ll get to see him about the place for a few weeks, even he is costing the taxpayer a couple of hundred thousand points to rerun a race he’s already won. Let’s hope his mandate shrivels the way Teresa May’s did.

We could end up with 2 by- elections at this rate, depending on the results of the investigation and if he gets re-elected, of course.

The man is an absolute joke.

Burnham won the by-election, the people of Makerfield backed him.

Presumably you think the same with Burnham and the Manchester Mayoral election? Although lets face it Burnham doesn't have a personal fortune as just like the other King he has never had a real job.

Sereine · Today 15:33

Restore are no doubt putting the election machine into motion already. Given his track record of doing fuck all as an MP, he's a sitting target.

What about what Burnham has just done? Or is that ‘different’?

MargoLivebetter · Today 15:35

Hmmmm, I'm thinking the smart move may be for all the major parties to leave the seat entirely uncontested, so that there is no fight and Farage simply gets re-elected. Other than wasting tax-payers money, everything will be just as it was and the Commissioner can get back on with their job and Farage can't really claim any "mandate" because no party of substance stood against him.

As has already been pointed out, he declared them. Meanwhile Farage had pocketed £5 million which he did not declare despite the rules being clear that all gifts of over £300 recieved by any MP in the 12 months preceeding their election have to be declared. He will say anything for around £60 on Cameo so what is he willing to say for £5 million. He also has 9, yes 9 other income streams aside from his MP's salary. Given that most people would rightly find being an MP a full time demanding role one does wonder how Farage finds the time. Guess it has something to do with missing around 77 votes in the HoC because he is rarely there. A skivver and a cheat but still people support him

It's possible to be against both. No need to be so binary.

Not the same thing at all. Burnham isn't re-running for the position. And didn't trigger a by-election to stand in it himself.

Oh, and hasn't taken enough money from criminals, Russians and crypto billionaires to be able to pay for the costs. Let alone "forgotten" to declare it all.

But if you can't see that Farage is a lying griffer by now, you are too far gone to be worth my time.

PS I have never voted Labour in my life.

He spent more time on promoting gold bullion than on voting in Parliament.

I agree, I'm against both. Call them out for politicking.

KeepPumping · Today 15:39

So only people who have worked in the commercial sector have a 'proper job'. I shall have to tell my friend who was deployed to Bosnia twice, Iraq, and Afghanistan, that they never had a proper job. Ditto my friend who's pretend-job it is to investigate road accidents - all that measuring of up of children's bodies after they have been flung through a windscreen is just amateur hour. And as for my cousin who works every day disrupting state-sponsored terrorism, clearly just a dilettante.

None of them have anywhere near as much real world, proper job experience, as someone who runs a corner shop.

Have any of them applied for politics?
