Will you sign up to the new refugee sponsorship scheme?

The Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood is apparently announcing next week a new refugee sponsorship scheme.

It would allow households to privately sponsor refugees from conflict zones.

Applications open this autumn, with the aim of resettling more than 10,000 people.

It’s modelled on Canada’s scheme and the Homes for Ukraine programme.

Sponsors would commit to providing financial, emotional and practical support.

What do people think? I just can't help thinking that with the current pressures on housing, schools, GPs and local services, how this will actually work in practice? Has anyone been involved in the Ukraine sponsorship scheme and can share what it was really like day-to-day?

Scorched earth is right! This refugee nonsense, Rachel Reeves' ISA malarkey... the cynic in me wonders whether current cabinet members know they're about to be shafted and are deliberately leaving a shitshow in their wake.

The Labour left are on the rise and Mahmood is angling to keep her job or to be appointed into another plum role. The left are globalists through and through. They will move hell and high water to get as many migrants into to the country as possible.

They will gaslight the public to stifle dissent, like the nonsense that this new scheme will somehow reduce the numbers coming on boats. It won't.

Because of Brexit the million immigrants that the Spanish are starting on the road to European citizenship and the millions of other arrivals through the rest of the Eurozone won't be able to move here under free movement.

I hosted 6 people under the Ukrainian scheme. It was very difficult and I would not host again. Previous to the scheme I would have offered assistance for this scheme but now I wouldn't risk opening my home to others unfortunately. Ps yes I'm one of those woke left wingers who puts their money where their mouth is 🤣

Yes, and they would have come here in droves as the authorities have deliberately turned the UK in to a soft touch. We're taught to value the culture of incomers over and above our own. A perfect landing ground for anyone who wants to come here and exploit our weakness.

The govt could deport these scumbags if they had a will to do it, but they don't have the will because they always put their ethnic minority voter base first (even though quite a few ethnic minorities want these people out too).
