Any good CF comeuppance tales?

As i'm currently going through the most mind-blowing CF situation, and waiting for the courts to open a case against them, please can you point me in the direction to the best CF threads where they got their comeuppance. This will hopefully give me some reassurance that CFs don't always get away with it!

soon after the 'pick up dog poo' laws came in, a lot of people didn't do it. One guy used to walk his dog past my parents house and every day he'd let it poo in their driveway entrance and just walk off. Not even on the verge, but on their properly where they had to drive over it to get the car in.

My dad asked him not to, I asked him not to, my brother told him it was illegal. He just didn't care.

My mum was about 70 by then so looked like a sweet older lady, but was pretty feisty when she wanted to be. One day we were in the kitchen and watched through the window as he let his dog shit and then just walked off. She grabbed a piece of kitchen roll, walked out, picked it up and trotted up the road behind him saying "ooh, excuse me, so sorry, I think you dropped this".

Presumably he thought it was keys or something because he turned round and held his hand out to receive whatever it was he'd dropped and she slammed the poo squidgy side down in his hand, turned round and marched back home.

She was bloody wonderful, was my mum 😂

I worked at a pub on a busy road in Manchester. It was on the corner of a junction with traffic lights. Despite having signs up asking drivers not to do it impatient motorists would avoid the red light by speeding through our car park. There'd been many near misses of people getting run over and other cars being clipped etc. The brewery sick of all the complaints decided to build a massive beer garden which meant blocking the exit by building over it. The first day the exit was blocked a few of us decided to sit there watching the numpties driving at speed into the car park and then having to manoeuvre awkwardly back out. We ended up cheering and applauding at least 50 people in that 3 hour time frame. The absolute best bit for me though was the neighbour who complained about every little thing we did getting caught out. She got a standing ovation 👏 😆😆😆

I saw a man in an open topped sports car pull up next to a canal and dump a large black binliner full of stuff into it, then saunter off into the nearest pub. I and a friend dragged out the binliner and shoved it sopping wet into the driver's seat. Never saw him return but oh how that still makes me happy!

I think I love you

I do voluntary gardening at an old churchyard behind the house. One early evening I saw a bunch of 4 lads drive into the carpark and head off to the pub. But they emptied all their rubbish, empty beer cans and an ashtray onto the floor.
They stupidly left their driver side window open so I put all of their rubbish back through the window, ciggie butts and all.

@AuntieDen I'd have loved your mum too.

Good god OP. That goes way beyond the realms of CF. That's criminal.

So sorry you're having to deal with it. It must be very stressful.

Thank you and it really is unbelievably stressful. I think about it continually. And yes, the criminal elements that I've discovered and reported to the local police make me hopeful that the courts will open a criminal investigation against them. Otherwise, it's just a civil eviction and once the time (eventually!) comes, they'd just walk away. Probably to do the same to other homeowners....

Power of attorney doesn't mean they inherit? Only that they can administer the affairs so long as she is living, they expire the moment someone dies. What am I missing?

I think the fact they had power of attorney is very very worrying. They had not expected the woman to die first, so as well as having access to view their private finances, they were in a trusted position with her, and could have easily manipulated a vulnerable widow over the next months/ time after his death, into changing/ setting up wills for them to be the sole benefactors. I read it that the poster meant this when they said that cp couple were hours away from inheriting.

I feel stupid but I don't understand how that worked. Wouldn't he have been discovered when someone came to collect the car and found it had been left somewhere inaccessible? Or was he just lucky that that never happened?

No idea how he got away with it for so long. But the Zipcar had been in our car park on and off for months. Mostly over bank holiday weekends.

You know the times when people want a car to escape the city!

That was a belter, the OP won in the end as I recall.

There were a lot of cfs on that thread who thought the op should have let the allotment thief keep the land and she was being unreasonable to want to use her own land! There was also a garage that a neighbour was keeping their stuff in

I've told this one before, it's not really a CF more of an arsehole. My then husband was berating me, witheringly, for walking carefully on ice. He mansplained that if you are confident and walk normally you will actually (a word he did like to make good use of) be much safer than walking carefully. This was before the days of the walk like a penguin ads but I had got to the age I was by being said careful.

We were heading along a slight slope and he was barging on ahead, as usual, when he confidently walked on the ice and, lo, down he went. On his way to the ground he proceeded to cross his forearms across his chest and roll over a few times like a pound shop James Bond.

Epic! Ooh I do love a bit of Karma 😆

Thank you, unfortunately it's illegal to cut them off in this particular country. Squatters are very protected. I'm doing everything by the book and have a good lawyer based there, but it's all so very slow

I believe the law is changing in Spain OP, as they have a big problem with people not wanting to let their properties out to tenants due to them not being able to get them out. People are choosing to Air BnB them instead, where they have more protection. This has led to a big lack of rental properties available for long-term let. I'm not sure whether this is just in the Canaries or throughout mainland Spain though. Good luck with everything, there really are some CFs knocking about let's hope Karma gets them, and soon x

Silentscreaminside · Yesterday 13:26

@ThisMadeMyDay pay no attention. By rights I should have left by DH for a least ten count of MN LTB laws

I experienced similar to you. It was the most painful and stressful thing but it’s also my personal source of pride - we both put the work in and our reconciliation and subsequent happy stable marriage is not something I need to explain to anyone.

I'd been trying to sell a house in difficult circumstances. I had to get three valuations.
One particularly rude agent told me it needed 'gutting' and new modern furniture. They were the agency who sold it to me but apparently it was a hard to sell and I would have to cut my losses. Five different people from the same office rung up over the last five months to persuade me to sell it at ever decreasing values. We got to point of the agent saying it was worth less than I paid and they had someone prepared to 'take it off my hands'. Well reader I sold it yesterday to family member who wants it as a BTL. Solicitors instructed. I can't wait for the sign to go up as they thought I was desperate. They have a reputation for selling to 'mates' and they underestimated me. I'm a disabled women but my brains fine. Bastards.

💪good on you!

This was a long time ago. Traffic lights, 2 lanes, the road ahead was also 2 lanes. I was behind a porsche in the left hand lane. A small sports car drew up in the right hand lane, by the porsche. Sports car driver was revving and revving. But when the lights changed, he'd obviously put the car into reverse rather than first because he shot off at great speed - into the car behind him. The porsche disappeared into the distance - I'm not sure they'd even noticed. I stayed to be a witness and check noone was hurt.

Yes, they will probably just walk away, and as, you say, do the same to someone else.

I have a house I let out, and I've had a couple of bad tenants over the years.

I had one that ended up in court and resulted in bailiffs removing them. It took six months to finally get them out, during which time they paid no rent. And they left the house in a horrible mess.

I have no idea what happened to them, but my landlord's agent said the same as you, that they'd just move on and do it to someone else.

It's very stressful and worrying.

I hope you manage to get it resolved as soon as possible and get these awful people out of your life.

Mine is very minor, but I'll share it anyway.

I had hired a transit van to help my son move. I was sitting in a queue of cars at traffic lights. I had (as one should) left a gap in front of me in order to keep the entrance to a small car park to the side of me clear.

For some reason the driver behind me honked their horn, and after a few seconds, honked it again. I looked at my son and said 'what do you think they are honking for?'. I didn't realise it was me until they decided to overtake me. But there was nowhere for them to go - other than into the small car park. There was still a red light ahead and a queue of cars waiting.

So they waited at the entrance of the car park to leave. Ordinarily if there was someone waiting to leave, I would let them pull out. But this person? Nah, they can wait. Their comeuppance was that I wasn't the only vehicle to see what they had done, so I wasn't the only vehicle not to let them out - so they ended up further behind than they would have been otherwise.

Yeah, said it was minor!

I guess they could see that there was a gap in front of me, and must have thought I was sitting there just for shits and giggles?

We had similar up here.

Before we got a spankly new dualer, the exit from town to shire was clogged at rugh house, and there was this 1 set of junctions where people had for DECADES basically got a system of zipping together at juntion 1, then at the next junction. Traffic would move smoothly as everyone going at a slow speed.

Except when you got a few selfish MOFO that wouldn't let anyone out of junction 1...what would usually happen was then that the car in front would let SOOOOO many cars out at junction 2 to spite them.
And people would remember cars and faces as it was usually the same people day in day out..

Mine is long but glorious. This was in the late 80’s. Police in my neck of the woods were notoriously corrupt. (In Australia in case road rules are different). I hadn’t had my Licence very long and was driving to uni VERY carefully. It was one of the first times I had had driven alone. A traffic light turned yellow just as I got to it, and I went straight through. I was pulled over on the other side of the lights for running a red. They started writing the ticket and when the lights changed, a car full of law students stopped and told them that they had witnessed the whole thing and that the light had been yellow. Because the other car was full of “Independent Witnesses” (I didn’t know them, but it didn’t matter - they were in another car.) the police had to tear up the ticket and they were pissed off about it. I thanked the guys for stopping and got back in my car and started off for uni again. Of course the police decided to tailgate me on the way. After five minutes or so, I came to a light that was turning yellow again, so I braked. The police car rear-ended me and the law students showed up to be witnesses again. It went to court, the police were charged with intimidation and dismissed, I had a lovely payout for my whiplash and a replacement car AND I dated one of the law students for a while.

That is sublime!

Boxed junction in my town by some very long traffic lights i left it clear chap behind me didn't like it drove around me planted himself in the middle...then the police showed up he couldn't move far enough to let them out they really really needed to get out hot head police passenger jumped out the car to call him all sorts of twat chap didn't like that and began going back at him swearing and gestures galore he got a shiny set of bracelets for his troubles and apparently they discovered he didn't actually have something vital i cant remember exactly it was either a driving licence or an MOT it was a long time ago but it was entertaining (they called another car for the other incident and that turned out ok) it was a piece in the paper something about box junctions and the fact that its unwise to be loud and wrong with a police officer

Has no one added the CF work meal one? The one where the guy thinks everyone is splitting the bill and gets called out and has to pay his fair share? That's the best recent one I think. What a fud, he was raging 😆

My old boss was one of these twats. He was paid around £90k and his wife was on at least double that with no kids.

We had a team dinner after a conference and one of the minimum wage staff had confided in me she was worried about the cost so was going to use a starter and drink water but didn't want to make a fuss.

Cue dickhead boss ordering a bottle of wine to share with one other person, three courses of food, several cocktails the saying we should just split the bill however many ways we were (about 16 I think)...

I took that one up and said no, we had several colleagues who hadn't been drinking alcohol and it wouldn't be fair to make them subsidise our drinking habits 😁.

Dickhead boss grumbled but I passed the bill round for everyone to tot up their own figures. Skint colleague's was about £8, dickhead boss's was about £100.

Urgh that beeping at you when you leave a box junction clear or allow a pedestrian to cross at a zebra crossing 🙄 is enraging. I found the yellow box jumper man getting his come uppance an extremely satisfying read!
