Yes, but it wasn't that it went to trial in a criminal case but there wasn't enough evidence to convict. The police or CPS failed to actually get it to that stage despite the fact there was a lot of evidence as rape cases go (reported immediately, DNA, very obvious assault injuries described as the worst a nurse had ever seen). Civil cases can be great when there isn't enough evidence for a criminal case but that wasn't what happened here. Even the police later apologised for not pursuing the case further. Also whilst all this was going on her family home was firebombed in what might have been an intimidation attack from one of his fans. And her reputation was smeared by him and his fans.
The problem with only caring about crimes or police fuck ups when the criminal is black is that stuff like this is never fixed/properly looked at. It's just an outrage cycle. And the same people who want to protect women and children have no problem hanging out with McGregor. Because they don't see rape as a crime against individual women but a crime against the community and them (when it's an outsider doing it).
