The ‘suspect’ is Sudanese. He arrived in the U.K. from Ireland & was granted leave to remain.

It’s like the authorities are actively trying to tear thIs country apart and cause mass civil unrest. Britain is already a tinderbox, and I’m genuinely scared as to what will happen unless they get a grip on allowing illegal immigrants & foreign criminals into this country en masse then allowing them to stay.

He wasn't illegal was he? And sadly it's very very hard to tell if someone is going to commit such a horrific crime in advance, especially if they've no criminal record. If only it were that easy, be a different world.

It’s hard to know who was illegal because as soon as you claim asylum (Sudan is a war zone) you’re no longer illegal.

A line that is always trotted out to downplay illegal entry.

I'm more horrified about the casual racism evident in this thread but apart from that, am I required to describe my horror in this specific thread to prove that I'm horrified?

Edited

And this post sums up the whole problem, and why if people like this PP continue to influence decisions the situation will just get worse and worse. More horrified by (perceived) racism than an attempted beheading. Truly mind boggling.

Thedevilhasfinallycaughtupwithhim · Yesterday 14:56

Happyjoe · Yesterday 14:52

I don't think that was the point of the post. Have a read back?

The point was to say “these men get away with violence without there being riots”

As if that’s a reason to not be mad and want change for epidemic of male violence.

None is ok.

We need to do everything we can to reduce it.

Uncontrolled immigration of undocumented men will not reduce it.

I don’t think anyone wants to be the de facto vetting system anymore.

We don’t have to comment on every single example of male violence to be allowed to speak out against male violence!

Yes, but it wasn't that it went to trial in a criminal case but there wasn't enough evidence to convict. The police or CPS failed to actually get it to that stage despite the fact there was a lot of evidence as rape cases go (reported immediately, DNA, very obvious assault injuries described as the worst a nurse had ever seen). Civil cases can be great when there isn't enough evidence for a criminal case but that wasn't what happened here. Even the police later apologised for not pursuing the case further. Also whilst all this was going on her family home was firebombed in what might have been an intimidation attack from one of his fans. And her reputation was smeared by him and his fans.

The problem with only caring about crimes or police fuck ups when the criminal is black is that stuff like this is never fixed/properly looked at. It's just an outrage cycle. And the same people who want to protect women and children have no problem hanging out with McGregor. Because they don't see rape as a crime against individual women but a crime against the community and them (when it's an outsider doing it).

Yet Elon says only Conor can save Ireland

Conor McGregor needs help to be on the ballot in his bid for Ireland president. Elon Musk has thrown his support behind the controversial UFC star.

It is supposed to pressure the police force to fucking change

The police force do what they're paid and told to do but the puppeteers.
They can't change anything without being told to do so yet they take an oath to serve and protect civilians.... not all police people are corrupt. But the big ones are puppets; just like politicians, news readers, big celebrities (Hollyweird people).... sold themselves out with no moral compass for gain of fame, money and power

Oh yes! BlueSky😀
A friend (yes actually was a friend, not me!) met an apparently lovely guy - very eminent medic in fact and a leader in his niche field of medicine - on OLD and was happy chatting into he started ranting that he’d ‘boycotted’ X and moved to BlueSky.
So luckily she was able to dodge the virtual-signalling loser before wasting time on him.

I don’t even understand the problem your friend had.

Is everyone to be ok with Grok being able to produce AI naked kids pics? Or Musk’s interference in politics in the US and now the U.K.? Or Musk’s very racist views? If they have any issue with X that’s a red flag - wow!

Point I was making is that he was granted a visa to stay. You'd think that he'd been vetted before that was granted? If not then the home office needs to take responsibility.

Flyingintotheunknown · Yesterday 14:57

Actually yes. You do.

By definition, if anyone emigrates from one country they are immigrants to another.

I am a brit in a country other than Britain. And guess what I am. I am an immigrant. That is why I have to deal with immigration where I am.

You’re missing the point! Emigration means leaving the country! Immigration means to arrive into a country! Yes you can be an immigrant of a country where you emigrated from another country. What I’m saying is the correct wording if you’re leaving the country is not “I’m immigrating to Spain”, it should be “I’m emigrating to Spain”. But anyway let’s leave the argument here now because that’s not what this thread is about

About a third of NHS hospital doctors are foreign nationals - that’s around 50k doctors. Good luck finding replacement British ones at short notice.

Well they would be the more newly qualified ones who currently can’t get jobs.

Would change the output of the NHS but presumably they’d be cheaper to employ.

Schools set up their teaching staff requirements that way - bully out expensive staff and replace them with NQTs.

Fine. Just keep letting limitless numbers of them in if you’re happy to take the consequences. But be very careful what you wish for. This could get very nasty, very quickly.

'They' don't actually care what happens as long as the cost of rent paid to them keeps going up with the size of the population. That is literally the only thing that matters to them.

napody · Yesterday 15:00

I know several people killed in stabbing attacks over the years. None were on the national news.

The BBC covered this one. It was a horrific attack, but their decision to cover it was probably partly to get ahead of racists baying for blood that it had been 'covered up'.

Trouble is, there's nothing the BBC can do to stop that happening. The racists have the momentum now and they aren't going to let reality get in the way when they're making hay with innocent victims' stories.

Every week there're at least two kidnappings by Islamists in Nigeria. Not once has Starmer ever condemned it but when there was a protest at a mosque in the US he stood up to attack the perpetrators. Labours' only power is Islam. That is their future. So even though he's a lawyer he will not speak out against evil or support good if it doesn't further his islamic agenda.

6.5% of the British population is Muslim. How on earth can that be the government’s ’only power’? That’s just a silly thing to say.

No we don't but I think she is right to spot a pattern.

I'd have less issue with the riots if it happened against all people who commit really violent crimes or lack of justice. Like those poor girls and just today some lady who was murdered by her ex who was stabbed so many times and her house set on fire.

I would love to see the UK show some passion towards all of these horrific crimes and some much harsher sentences in prison. Crime is crime innit. You either care or you don't.

No. Actually you are.

If I look at something and say, that’s horrific, we need to take action so that we can start to reduce and tackle this, I care about all of that issue.

If you look at something and say, oh well, it’s already happening, why bother doing anything to limit it? You don’t give a shit.
