No, I wouldn’t accept anything a stranger said without evidence. And you still haven’t provided any.

Are you aware of the news in Sudan?

I thought this sort of casual racism had been left in the 70s where it belonged.

Nothing to do with the attack, just 'I don't like blacks'.

There’s no point engaging. I said further up above that the willingness to miss a basic point is the default when there is no cognitive argument from these types.

The gentleman who was nearly beheaded is merely another in a long list of Britons who are fair game/sacrifices to support the multiculturalism project and healing the world. We can’t discuss that when someone leaves their home country they may not immediately leave that culture behind which can often include extreme violence. That’s a debate we just can’t have nor can we risk assess allowing it to flourish on our streets.

Sudan is a war zone. You cannot return a criminal to a war zone even an awful criminal.
Reality is people from this kind of conflict area may arrive with severe trauma and mental health issues potentially and can be a huge threat to the public. All reasonably foreseeable. They should have a psychological evaluation.
I guess if we do not have enough mental health professionals to deal with our own case load, then this kind of thing will slip through.

It shouldn’t slip through and we absolutely can send them back. This country will end up a war zone if nothing changes. We can’t be responsible for everyone else and have to put the people of this country first for once.

Of course people here study medicine, do you think those 50k doctors are all recent graduates? Would you prefer a recently qualified or an experienced anaesthetist, or neurosurgeon? Unfortunately postgrad funding, preference and a bunch of other things make some specialisms less interesting. Many British doctors go to work abroad after qualifying. And a rotation of doctors from different countries brings expertise and learning which benefits us all.

They're not immediately qualified they have to train first after graduation, but many can't access this due to the roles being filled by cheaper imported labour, undermining worker's pay, undermining the start of career training to experienced professional process, undermining the ability for doctors and other healthcare workers to effectively communicate with patients, undermining how women are treated by physicians from states which regard women as livestock and undermining expectations of the modern day taxpayer to access effective and timely healthcare. It is a LIE that have to depend on immigration to run the health service..it's a CHOICE that benefits a few to the detriment of most people.

15 years of austerity put paid to psychological services. The head of that service was on R4 today stating that’s one of the reason the Nottingham killer hadn’t been sectioned again.

The other point made by Dr Sanjay Kumar, father of murdered Nottingham student Grace O'Malley Kumar, was that a rep from the royal college of Psychiatry said if psychiatrists were made to be accountable to their decisions re sectioning or not "no one would ever want to be a psychiatrist".

An argument that should have been put to her this morning if she could justify it. It cut little ice with him as a GP who has to be held accountable for his decisions.

They've just had the local north Belfast MP, from Sinn Fein, urging everyone to not protest and be all hearts and to co-operate with the police 🚓

If staff were unprofessional, you should have complained to PALS That's what I did when a local white British ( senior) nurse lied to me about my mother's death.

About a third of NHS hospital doctors are foreign nationals - that’s around 50k doctors. Good luck finding replacement British ones at short notice.

We can’t have an honest discussion about this because we don’t have all the data in order to really know.

We would need data on patients’ nationality and the extent and costs of their treatments.

We’d also need to know how much tax they’re paying towards the NHS.

We’d also have to hypothesise about what schemes we would have in place for uk students to become qualified to work in the nhs had we not had so many foreign born workers.

With so many unknown factors, it really isn’t worth contemplating.

The families involved in the enquiry into VC are extraordinarily tenacious and strong.

@MightyDandelionEsq - that is not true. It is the duty of our politicians and police to keep us all as safe as possible. And we can question safety and the nationality of perpetrators and their backgrounds. We can demand that that information is readily available at all times and that people from other countries are assessed. Here we know the criminal records of everyone and can check them. For those from abroad we do not. And we are entitled to ask the question. What we cannot do is be racist and assume that someone is going to be X Y and Z because of where they came from. But we can demand the authorities check and do reasonable evaluations.

PALS is useless all I've ever got from them is 'we're sorry you're upset' non-apology. And by the time you complain, the damage is done.

Dare I say that any person waiting 14 hours perhaps isn’t triaged to be seen in a hurry, and could have made other arrangements, and that the continent from which the doctor came is as irrelevant as their body odour?

Right, because NHS24 make you an appointment and advise you to rush to A&E for it for a laugh, eh...?

All that data is accessible. I think what you mean is ‘I prefer to imagine everything would be better without immigration’. Which is fine, but at least be honest instead of pretending it’s too complex.

Watching the video. The police arrived very quickly, subdued and arrested the attacker. The hurly guy hopefully fended off the attacker long enough to give the victim a fighting chance of survival.

It obviously wasn’t a rush if you waited 14 hours, was it? We’ve all been there, sometimes it feels safer to be in A&E just in case. But blaming the ‘African’ medics for your long wait is bullshit, and we both know it.

We're in the Glasgow area, and the equivalent in NHS Scotland is the Patient Advice and Support Service (PASS), and we didn't know it existed, and my wife works in the same Hospital we were in.

Edit for spelling.
