What's the weirdest thing your pet is scared of?

My friend's dog is terrified of cardboard boxes but completely ignores thunderstorms 😅

Pets can be so strange sometimes.

What's the weirdest thing your dog or cat is scared of?

Vacuum cleaners? Bananas? Plastic bags? Random household objects?

I'd love to hear some funny stories.

Black bin bags. If I'm changing the bin bag in the kitchen bin, my cat does a very quick walk out of the room then scoots up the stairs.

The shadow of the ceiling fan, would growl at it. Woe betide you ever switched it on

My cat is terrified of sighing.

She will face up to a dog, catch and disembowel a rat, go in a field with a herd of cows but if you sigh she runs like the wind and hides.

in our old house, there was a car wash which had one of those huge inflatable things outside. It must have been 10 feet and blew around in the wind. My dog refused to walk on the same side of the road. Tbf it was gross.

a couple of years back she stayed with my brother overnight while we were at a wedding. He had 2 cats. Unwisely she attempted to eat the cats dinner and one went for her big style. She is now scared of cats.

there’s a shop locally to me. It sells beads etc to make jewellery. For some reason she refuses to walk by it and drags me to the other side of the road. I really don’t know why she’s spooked by it, it’s totally inoffensive.

My horse won’t walk over speed humps in the road, so we end up on the path for a few seconds. Otherwise, utterly bomb-proof.

Not really that weird when you know her history. I have a rescue spaniel; she came from Cyprus as a street dog, and is terrified of bikes and scooters. I suppose she must have had people trying to run he down when she lived on the streets.
