Poor Nigel Farage

...has not been selected to regale us with his plans for life on a desert island.

So to soften the blow, I wonder what tunes (and essential items) the good denizens of MN would imagine he would enjoy ...

It's hard to think that this dirge wouldn't be there ...

Scared about what? Questions about a £5m donation?

Little Lies, Fleetwood Mack

dizzydizzydizzy · 01/06/2026 11:56

Brilliant music suggestions!

for his treat: a slice of humble pie ?

Apparently it would have stressed them out too much. Goodness knows how they would cope in the real life of employment.

SabrinaThwaite · 01/06/2026 11:58

‘Making plans for Nigel’ by XTC - maybe the Russian version?

Tomorrow belongs to me.

I was going to say that too. Due to his enjoyment of bullying younger Jewish boys at school when he was a Sixth Former by making hissing gas chamber noises at them. Vile specimen

SerendipityJane · 01/06/2026 12:01

White Man in Hammersmith Palais - The Clash ?
Grift Away - Dobie Gray ?

Oh, Viv. We are having fun at Farage's expense. There are hundreds of threads for you to go on about snowflakes and woke etc.

What music choices do you think he would make?

I thought you meant Farage when you asked how they would cope with real life employment.

I dunno, maybe by avoiding fascists? Hate speech tends to be disapproved of by most professional companies and organisations.

Probably opera. Then you lot would be stumped.
its amazing that I spend half my life telling teenagers to be kind and to be accepting of everyone. Maybe their parents should do the same?

DuncinToffee · 01/06/2026 12:08

Wagner's The Ring Cycle?

MsJinks · 01/06/2026 12:11

Well it is easy to roll out that ‘some of the views in this programme …’ for Enoch Powell eg but difficult to phrase it properly when those views were from today/yesterday.

One of the few good things I’ve ever heard about the BBC - looking out for their employees- I’d definitely be off sick with the horror of it, if he’d been on.

Though I assumed they asked you? How did Nige find out he wasn’t welcome?

I do hope you police other threads in order lecture posters who write vile things about other politicians.

Not sure what the opera comment is about, but I suspect it is not coming from a "kind" or "accepting" place...

It is just made-up fluff for Telegraph readers, I think:

Well he wouldn’t anyway - he’d go to extreme lengths to look like the man of the people he isn’t. ‘Common People’ - Paul Young? He’d have his pack of fags as a luxury.

So yes I’d be absolutely stumped if he started on opera and chose Cuban cigars - and assume he’d had either a mental breakdown on Damascene type conversion and was being himself for once.

We see where @Vivienne1000 got her woke employees comment from

BBC denies the claim.

So to be kind and to be accepting of everyone includes pandering to someone who have exhibited anti-Semitic and racist behaviour, marched with the NF, and has mysogenistic policies for governing this country?
No thanks, and please keep your ‘let the bigots be’ views away from my kids, who I’ve taught to stand up for others.

LongDarkTeatime · 01/06/2026 12:24

Sorry, fell for the rage-baiting from @Vivienne1000
They prob reside on a Russian farm too.
Will appropriately ignore them now.
