Have you ever hated something that seems very popular with everyone else ?

Just for fun so no sarcasm or nastiness please .
My friend and I went to see a West End musical this week . I was really looking forward to it . Great reviews . Celebrity cameos . Camp and fun . Seemed right up our street .
We both hated it . We were turning to each other with puzzled looks and raised eyebrows (we've known each other forever and have very similar tastes so no words needed) .
The audience seemed off their tits to be honest . Screeching at every unsubtle innuendo . Shouting responses to the actors . It was like a really bad hen do .
We left at the interval .
My point is that everyone else seemed to be having a great time . The staff who opened the doors to allow us to leave at the interval were incredulous . I quote : "Are you not enjoying it ?!"
Well no , we weren't . We thought it was shit .
This is a show that is up for lots of awards and has had so many positive reviews .
Have you ever hated something that everyone else seemed to love ?

Just be secure in your own opinion. I often think I'm an alien because I just cannot muster excitement for what the majority think is entertaining or worthwhile.

Same!! I wanted one for ages and got an expensive two drawer one and I just…don’t get it?? What is it adding exactly?

It’s more that it’s taking away, as in it’s very cheap to run. So chicken wings, sausages etc can be cooked cheaper than putting them in the oven, and normally quicker. I wanted some stuffing for a chicken sandwich I’d made and rather than stick a small portion in a whole oven I put it in the airfryer. Same when I want a sweet potato. It’s an essential part of the kitchen for me.

Agree with all except Japan, as I haven’t been yet (but want to). What didn’t you like about it ?

We walked out of an Elton John concert some years ago. It was an orchestral album he was promoting I think, must have been around 2005/2006? We knew he'd mostly play new material but didn't play one single song we'd heard of! We think he also had a sore throat as his voice wasn't great either. The tickets had cost us a fortune, we'd had to arrange a babysitter etc. We came home feeling quite crushed.

Coldplay. I cannot bear Chris Martin’s smug supercilious voice. I have to contain my hatred when it comes on the radio at work, because my colleagues think I’m weird

Same, I absolutely hate the whiny twat and his songs. Like nails on a blackboard to me

Sushi also, though someone made me a sushi sandwich and it was very nice. Probably because it wasn't authentic sushi
The Woman in Black (stage show)was quite boring and not scary

I was here to say Abba. But you beat me to it. A very proud moment of my life was when my DD then 16 said 'mum, who's abba?' 🤣 I'd managed to shield her for her life thus far, result!

These threads are alway full of people saying musicals! I like all of the hated one, even jukebox ones 😂 I did like Titanique even and found it really funny and panto-ish but I didn't have people joining in. I wouldn’t like that, it does seem to have a bit of a cult following.

Mine is holidays. I just can’t fathom spending thousands for a week that I’m only going to wish I didn’t have to come home and then forget about it in a couple of weeks!
