Have you ever hated something that seems very popular with everyone else ?

Just for fun so no sarcasm or nastiness please .
My friend and I went to see a West End musical this week . I was really looking forward to it . Great reviews . Celebrity cameos . Camp and fun . Seemed right up our street .
We both hated it . We were turning to each other with puzzled looks and raised eyebrows (we've known each other forever and have very similar tastes so no words needed) .
The audience seemed off their tits to be honest . Screeching at every unsubtle innuendo . Shouting responses to the actors . It was like a really bad hen do .
We left at the interval .
My point is that everyone else seemed to be having a great time . The staff who opened the doors to allow us to leave at the interval were incredulous . I quote : "Are you not enjoying it ?!"
Well no , we weren't . We thought it was shit .
This is a show that is up for lots of awards and has had so many positive reviews .
Have you ever hated something that everyone else seemed to love ?

Cannot drink a Coke a cola, genuinely find anything like that (Pepsi, Dr Pepper) repulsive. Cannot even kiss DH after he has had one and he loves Dr Pepper :(.

Also don’t like David Attenborough… crucify me if you want but he gives me mad heebeejeebies.

Dolphins. The creeps of the ocean. Everyone talks about how intelligent they are, how do people know this?

They get them to do crosswords.

Last One Laughing. I just don't find anything funny about the "here's a joke" and "here's another joke" comedy.

I also don't like Naked Gun (any of them) and Airplane for the same reason

(Even odder is I'd probably find some of the jokes funny in isolation!!)

Someone said to watch Last One Laughing and it was so unfunny, I just sat there stony faced and bemused . One episode was quite enough.

whiny depressing shit

I went to a Frankie Valli tribute concert by a well known Australian singer. He was backed by guys that had apparently been in the west end shows. It was bloody AWFUL. I and my friend hated every out of tune, screechy, warbling minute of it. Everyone else was losing their minds at how “good” it was!!!!

Also:-
Birkenstocks
Uggs
Olives
Hairspray the musical
Les Mis
Phantom of the Opera

and many more (I actually sing and have been in musicals so don’t hate the genre)

henlake7 · 30/05/2026 18:31

The Office....I just dont get it, even though I like every other series Ricky Gervais has done.

A wise woman once told me: camping is holidaying in conditions you wouldn’t tolerate at home.

True story
holidays for me should be better than home

Jaffa Cakes.
I just don't like the chocolate and orange flavour combination.
I feel alone in this as I've never met anyone who doesn't like them and people look amazed at work when they're offering the Jaffa Cakes (and at Christmas Chocolate Orange) around and I say that I don't like them.

You and my youngest son are the only two people I know who don’t like Jaffa cakes. I didn’t think it possible until he turned up.

Come on you have to say what the show is!

My offering is pulled pork.

Edited

That's known in my family as 'pre-chewed' ...

I bloody hate Rocky Horror Show. It does nothing for me at all.

BunnyLake · 30/05/2026 18:34

Hopefully they’ve stopped being a thing, but freestanding baths in the middle of your bedroom. I don’t get it at all and they make me quite angry!

Pulled pork, that I’ve made myself is excellent, I’ve perfected the BBq sauce, it’s fabulous, when hot, but I never want it again for another six months at least.

Theimpossiblegirl · 30/05/2026 18:38

I saw Titanique and found it funny and entertaining but there was no interval so just be glad you didn't go that day!

We didn't have an interactive audience, thankfully, I hate that.
