What do you think of non Christmas wreaths?

I’ve seen some lovely summer wreaths. I remember seeing some nice autumn ones last year too. But I’m not 100% sure how I feel about them. What would you think if your neighbour had a summer wreath on their front door?

would you think it looks nice or would you find it a bit strange?

Tacky

JustaDream · 26/05/2026 15:51

I wouldn't notice, TBH. If I did notice, I would probably think it was nice that someone actually gave a shit about their property and the way it looked to others. More and more, I find that a rare quality amongst the majority of people.

I have one for each season. Got when we moved from our pain in the arse very old house and into our new build. I think they look nice and they make me smile when I come home, as does our house 2 years on. Fuck what anyone else thinks op, if you want one go for it! Some lovely ones on Etsy.

youalright · 26/05/2026 15:55

I wouldn't personally have one but I don't hate them

Im the same. They make me smile when I come home so I dont really care what anyone thinks.
As with everything there are varying degrees of cost and style but choose what makes you happy

I love a wreath but must admit even I have never had a summer one! It’s not a season that needs cheering up like some of the others imo.

EffortlesslyDedicated · 26/05/2026 15:59

I like them, I have spring and autumn ones as well as Christmas, never found a summer one I like though. There is a street of terraced houses near me with small front gardens and lots of them make a real effort with their gardens and external decor, it's lovely.

LOCOJDS · 26/05/2026 15:59

I haven't got one.....yet, but I think they look lovely.

curious79 · 26/05/2026 16:02

Consumerist American vibes - even though it does look pretty - or, who’s getting married?

wisdombra · 26/05/2026 16:02

One of my neighbours has one for each of the seasons. I love walking past and seeing them, they’re lovely wreaths. Yours is very nice too!

I wouldn’t, although I do have one for Christmas, because I couldn’t be arsed with storing it and changing it 😂

What an odd comment.

YoBetty · 26/05/2026 16:08

At any time other than Christmas, a wreath on someone's door makes me wonder who's died.

For me, a floral wreath is something that goes on a coffin.

StopFeckingSnoring · 26/05/2026 16:16

I think they look like plastic tat.

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 26/05/2026 16:17

A waste of plastic.

My Christmas wreath has lasted many many years. Maybe even decades.

Summer wreaths inevitably fade and get brittle very quickly, needing regular replacements.

If you made it yourself from cloth or plants, I’d love it.

measuretwicecutonce · 26/05/2026 16:17

The ones I’ve seen look faded and tacky, I think
they are tacky.

WhatNoRaisins · 26/05/2026 16:17

I really like seasonal decorations. I'm no fan of rampant consumerism but something that you got out for a bit every year isn't the worst thing in the world. As someone prone to the Christmas blues I'm all for spreading out the indulgence for the different seasons.

Americans get blamed for everything.

MrsFionaCharming · 26/05/2026 16:18

I love them though for some reason I don’t have any.

Its one part of American culture I do love, the way they decorate their porches for the seasons!

WaterWonky · 26/05/2026 16:20

Not keen on any plastic wreath. If you can make one from actual flowers then I would think it was lovely, but I fear spring/summer flowers won't last like holly and ivy do.

Romanesk · 26/05/2026 16:21

I would think it looked a bit twee and naff - and rather too American for my taste.

namechange6766333545544 · 26/05/2026 16:22

I really like them and have been known to make them, using things I’ve collected on dog walks. To varying degrees of success.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 26/05/2026 16:23

I like them. I have an Easter one. Not sure I would want one up all the time though rather than just decorating for a specific celebration.

WonderfulSmith · 26/05/2026 16:24

There are a number of houses with them on my estate. I like them, they make the house look cheery.

Indianajet · 26/05/2026 16:26

I have various wreaths up through the year, I love them.

courtyardmusic · 26/05/2026 16:46

I’m not a fan of them at my own house and haven’t seen many that are genuinely nice but I think if it’s homemade or with real flowers it can look quite nice
