What do you think of non Christmas wreaths?

I’ve seen some lovely summer wreaths. I remember seeing some nice autumn ones last year too. But I’m not 100% sure how I feel about them. What would you think if your neighbour had a summer wreath on their front door?

would you think it looks nice or would you find it a bit strange?

Naff.
Are they an American thing?

UniquePinkSwan · 27/05/2026 05:19

Pointless

My neighbour opposite always has a wreath on her door, I like it.

Tacky

Why?

Soontobe60 · 27/05/2026 06:39

So many snobs on this post 😂
I love a Christmas door wreath and make sure I don’t buy ones made from plastic. As for a spring / summer / autumn wreath, why not? Surely it’s the door equivalent for a hanging basket?

Theonewhogotthecake · 27/05/2026 07:07

I like them but haven’t got one. A family member makes fresh ones which are stunning and very much suit her home.

Freysimo · 27/05/2026 07:13

I live in West Wales but recently visited friends in Cheshire. I was amazed at the number of houses with spring wreaths on their doors, some very pretty. I only see them down here at Christmas.

daisychain01 · 27/05/2026 07:13

Several people in our village have flowery door wreaths, as there is someone in the village who runs a business making them.

they are lovely as long as they come down as soon as they look faded and weather-worn.

Consumerist American vibes - even though it does look pretty - or, who’s getting married?

Weird

Notmyreality · 27/05/2026 07:18

I like them but only tend to do autumn/winter as in summer we have flowers all around.

Of course they aren’t an “American thing”. Some people are very odd.

DiscoBeat · 27/05/2026 07:18

I like door wreaths all year round if they're real plants and flowers but the plastic ones look a bit tacky.

WonderingWanda · 27/05/2026 07:20

I prefer real flowers in my garden or pots or hanging baskets.

I wouldn’t judge someone for having one but I’m the same @YoBetty any time other than Christmas always makes me think that someone has died, even if I can see it is an Easter, Summer, Autumn one.

I know fashions in home decor have changed in recent years, but whenever I see a wreath I still automatically think 'floral tribute'.

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 27/05/2026 11:36

Even more plastic tat in most cases.

I’ve seen some really pretty Easter wreaths made from natural materials though.

I'm sorry, I think they're extremely naff.

This thread is enlightening though - I've seen a few of these recently and assumed people couldn't be bothered to take their Christmas decorations down, I didn't realise it was a trend.

idrinkandiknowthings · Yesterday 13:42

I like them if they're tasteful. I have swags myself, rather than a wreath. Different ones for different seasons.
