What is your thing that’s good for your soul?

Very rare day off. I’m sitting in my garden, looking at the sea, listening to the radio, sipping a cocktail and also doing some word puzzles. There are birds in the bird bath, the sun is shining and this is so good for my soul! Absolute bliss!!

The Muntjac I saw on my walk this morning felt very good for my soul.

I feel the same way being near the ocean too.

I’m currently sat in my garden reading Mumsnet while my husband is indoors tiling a bathroom and my children are occupied. Bloody fabulous x

Waking up before DH and DC when we are holiday, getting a coffee, sitting on the balcony/in the garden & listening to a podcast… only happens about once a year, but god I love it when it happens!

I always say holding babies is good for the soul. Mine are teens now but I'm always delighted when someone lets me hold theirs.

Babies are so therapeutic! I absolutely love little babies.

I live on a farm and seeing the baby lambs frolicking around the fields makes everything feel a bit better. They’re so full of beans! It’s wonderful to see.

Hedgehogs, birds, the bees and butterflies, my garden, the beach and the sea, and seeing my flowers develop and grow... Also, THE SUN! ☀

I have felt so low, and down, this past few months, because of the never-ending shite weather, just sooooo depressing. This sunny weather is really cheering me up. Smile

I saw 2 pairs of swans today at the canal with their new little cygnets. (One pair had 6 and the other one had 7!) AND I saw some ducks with their new little ducklings. Absolutely wonderful! Smile The little squeaky chirps they were making were so cute! Really lifted my spirits and warmed my heart.

Sunshine, swimming pool, cocktails and friends 💕❤️

My little house. Due to ill health resulting in job losses dh and I had to sell our much bigger home and move to this tiny one. We are so very lucky that it's situated in beautiful countryside away from everywhere else. It was an amazing find and I like to just sit here, especially on beautiful days like today, and admire my gorgeous little home. We can no longer afford or are well enough to go on holidays but I don't need to go anywhere as I am just as happy staying in my home.

Falling asleep while my cat purrs.

ForestHare · 22/05/2026 18:33

Gardening for nature, sitting in the garden and watching all the small birds come down to eat, and hearing them sing is so good for my soul

EnterQueene · 22/05/2026 18:34

My beautiful, beautiful horses. And the mountains.

Bohemond23 · 22/05/2026 18:38

Faithless. Am seeing them outside again this year.
And gardening - weeding is the only thing that switches me off.

Cloverforever · 22/05/2026 18:43

Being a member of an amazing choir. It is such a positive, uplifting experience and I look forward to it all week.

Yoga, my allotment , and sunbathing with a cold white wine a salty snack and a good book

Whataflippincircus · 22/05/2026 18:53

Walking on the beach with my dog.

MightyGoldBear · 22/05/2026 18:55

Gardening, my animals, hugs from my children and husband. Being in nature preferably also riding a horse 😍

Badbadbunny · 22/05/2026 18:56

Two things.

Firstly, walking, and more walking, whether countryside, coastal or canal paths - just getting out into nature and fresh air does wonders.

Secondly, voluntary work, over the years I've been a Special Constable, taught advanced motoring, worked in museums and heritage railways, and currently working for a theatre restoration charity and a heritage centre doing "proper" work, i.e. getting my hands dirty such as renovations, painting, etc rather than shaking cash tins. Also been secretary and/or treasurer for various clubs and societies over the years.

Meeting up with my closest friends. Going shopping or to the pub. Having a night away. Reading fan chic lit or watching some guilty pleasure TV such as At Home with the Fury’s. All sounds very superficial but it does the job. Also nice cake or a new type of chocolate bar.

manateeplushie · 22/05/2026 19:44

Being at the beach and seeing and hearing the waves lapping up the sand smelling the salty air. I feel more alive when I'm by the sea
Going for a run. Even when it's freezing cold or blistering hot out and I can't be arsed putting my trainers on, that 30 minutes always makes me feel amazing

HobGobblynne · 22/05/2026 19:46

Away football matches by myself. I absolutely LOVE going to watch my team play and usually go with my youngest daughter but if she can’t make it I’m always secretly thrilled to have a little road trip by myself and really enjoy the game alone!

bakingsodar · 22/05/2026 19:54

I have reached a very strange stage of peri menopause, have 2 periods per month and they come with headaches, before, mid way and post....so literally I battle headaches quite few days a month...so just having a day with no headache and a cup of coffee is good for me....I am religious, so this is the real deal for my soul but will leave the topic out

SoScarletItWas · 22/05/2026 19:58

Art galleries.

Jellybeans.

The cat purring in my lap.

Singing along to, well, anything.

Going into an empty church on a hot day and sitting there. I’m not at all religious but the smell, the coolness, the atmosphere is amazing.
