I usually go for a malbec or a primitivo if having red. My favourite is Terre de Faiano from Waitrose or Tesco.

I don't like white wine but I do like prosecco! I especially like the Valdobbiadene one you can pick up cheap in Aldi.

HorribleHisTories15 · 16/05/2026 16:17

Riesling or Gewürztraminer

IAmBeaIDrinkTea · 16/05/2026 16:18

Red wine - anything smooth and fruity but not sickly sweet like Jam Shed, 19 Crimes etc (sorry, I know they are popular).

White wine - another vote for Vinho Verde - icy cold - Aldi do a nice one. Not too dry or sweet, with a bit of fizz. And usually it's a bit lower in alcohol than other white wine which I guess is a good thing 🤷‍♀️

BurnoutBee · 16/05/2026 16:34

Lambrini cherry, which is technically not a wine, it’s a perry.

Sanch1 · 16/05/2026 16:35

whispering angel, rose. Crement of fizz. Red is not for me.

Popsicalpop · 16/05/2026 16:35

Im actually a fan of Lambrusco too 😂😂

Albariño - Dry Spanish white from Northern Spain. Beautiful. There is also the Portuguese equivalent Alvarinho.

TheOliveFinch · 16/05/2026 16:36

Not very adventurous but Malbec for red and a New Zealand sauvignon for white. I enjoy a lot of different reds but would always choose s blanc for white

imaravenGRONKGRONK · 16/05/2026 16:38

An antipodean Sauvignon blanc for me, or a South African or Australian Shiraz.

I really prefer wine from the southern hemisphere!

VegQueen · 16/05/2026 16:43

Dry Riesling or vinho verde. Currently 39 weeks pregnant though so has been a long time!!!!!

Ditto.

Ihateboris · 16/05/2026 16:44

Cloudy Bay or Sancerre

Kim82 · 16/05/2026 16:48

I am easily pleased. Give me a bottle of Voga Pinot Grigio (which annoyingly I can only find in Asda so I have to do a special trip every time) or Freixenet rose Prosecco. I have both of these in my fridge right now. Kylie rose Prosecco is also very nice.

davidraker · 16/05/2026 16:48

The Ned Sauvignon blanc is my fave!

KeeleyJ · 16/05/2026 16:49

I can drink pretty much any wine as long as its on the dry side.

If i was to buy one just for me with no influence from DH, I would probably go for a Chardonnay for white and Malbec for red. Happy with Cava and Prosecco for the fiz, nothing wrong with champagne but don't see what the point is of paying min. £30 extra.

DH isn't as adventurous and won't really drink anything beyond Echo Falls Pinot Grigio.

Northermcharn · 16/05/2026 16:49

It's Chablis or nothing for me please

CurlewKate · 16/05/2026 16:49

White-Picpoul. Red-Merlot or Malbec.

InLoveWithAI · 16/05/2026 16:50

My favourite white is Italian Carricante, and my favourite reds are usually French Grenache/Syrah blends. Love a Tempranillo too.
Rosè usually something from the Rhone area of France.

AddictedToBooks · 16/05/2026 16:50

I prefer dry rich wine - either a very dry and tart white or my absolute favourite (and not expensive) is Carne Rojo Malbec - really dry and fruity.

travailtotravel · 16/05/2026 16:51

Pic St Loup or Terraces du Larzac (Langeudoc) or C9DP neighbour, Lirac if you can get it! I'm v particular ... my.nicknane is Cork.Dork

Ariela · 16/05/2026 16:51

Currently Waitrose No 1 Malbec is my favourite. Stock up whenever it's on offer.
