Where’s the threads discussing Louise Thompson?

Expected to come on here and see some threads but there don’t seem to be any? So I’ll be the one to start it. Thoughts?

@Fedup360 would you like to add more context, or is it blatantly obvious, except to the uninitiated? 🙈

It’s everywhere at the moment so I don’t feel it needs context

I've just Googled her. I agree with what she said, but she should've considered SEN in her comments.

I hadn't seen or heard of it until this thread. So defo not "everywhere".

Quitelikeit · 16/05/2026 09:14

its pure laziness to start a thread and expect the reader to google your subject for you

and the irony that you are here criticising someone else 👀

NotDarkGothicMama · 16/05/2026 09:15

I have no idea who she is or what she said. Are you her, OP? What did you say that means we should all be discussing your wisdom?

Quitelikeit · 16/05/2026 09:15

@GoodkneeBadKnee

exactly does op think she is so important and relevant that she herself does not need to even write a description of what she expects folk to discuss!

Quitelikeit · 16/05/2026 09:16

@NotDarkGothicMama maybe you are right and it’s Louise herself here 😂😂😂😂

Sartre · 16/05/2026 09:16

Had to google. I don’t know much about her but everything I’ve read in the past has basically been her whining. My DS has SEN but toilet trained at a usual age and I’m incredibly grateful for this. I remember another mum whose DS has much more severe SEN dropping off nappies with the reception staff last year and I just felt relieved. I can’t imagine finding this funny regardless.

Lifesyoungdream · 16/05/2026 09:16

I don’t know who you are talking about. I thought they were in One Direction but I’m old and out of touch.😂

Fedup360 · 16/05/2026 09:17

Got me 😂 No I just don’t want to give away my opinion, just curious on others that’s all.

How is it everywhere? When I google, it’s some reality person giving their opinion about potty training.

Hardly news!

OriginalPedant · 16/05/2026 09:18

She’s been pilloried this week for commenting about some reception aged children still being in nappies or unable to manage basic tasks independently.

She has faced backlash from the SEN community.

All she needed to do was clarify her comments were not aimed at them, but at some parents of NT children. Then there would have been no drama.

Paytovote · 16/05/2026 09:18

Can you please just say what this is about. I think you can do that neutrally

Well now you know most people have no idea who she is and don’t care about what she says

It really looks like you are trying to whip up some internet engagement for a non entity with opinions

CatsOnCushions · 16/05/2026 09:22

Other than children with SEN, I agree with her. Some parents are just lazy.

Louise is a twat though so I’m not surprised she didn’t think through her comments. She’s had life threatening health issues due to giving birth, but then is buying another woman to be surrogate for her. She really should know better after what she has been through. Awful woman. Also a huge attention seeker so she’s probably done it on purpose. I feel sorry for her children.

GoodkneeBadKnee · 16/05/2026 09:19

Funilly enough I finished work last night and my husband said to me have you seen what Louis Tomlinson has been saying? And I was like you mean Louise Thompson? And he was adamant it was Louis Tomlinson 😂😂

I can understand not knowing who this woman is, but you thought One Direction had women in? Really?

Oh I’ve just seen that you may have read it as Louis Tomlinson. That similarity in names didn’t cross my mind. Maybe get yourself to specsavers. 🤓

Edited

All those boy/girl bands are interchangeable. I may (or may not) know the band names but wouldn’t recognise the songs or members.

I think that children going to school who are developing typically should be potty trained before they go to school, however she should have made an emphasis that she wasn’t judging sen children or parents because that’s a different ball game. I myself have 3 children the middle of who is 6 and in nappies because they are autistic and non verbal. Her comments did annoy me but the real issue was the laughter. My other 2 were potty trained by age 3 and I know there are parents out there who don’t do it because they simply can’t be arsed but I wouldn’t imagine it’s very common I may be wrong. Who wants to be changing nappies for a prolonged period of time? I didn’t think I’d still be in the nappy game 6 years in but here we are. I wouldn’t say I’m a pitchfork at the ready offended Sen mum but the laughter did tick me off.

I don’t think anyone disagrees that it’s a high percentage of children who are not toilet trained by the time they reach school. The issue is her laughing about it and blaming the parents. Many of the children will have undiagnosed SEN or medical issues.

The children that ARE being neglected because their parents are too ‘career obsessed’ and ‘stuck on screens’ as she said should NOT be laughed at just as much as the Sen kids shouldn’t be laughed at.

She shits into a bag because of a medical condition and she is 36. Should we be laughing?

As many have pointed out online they haven’t even toilet trained their own (seemingly NT) child - Ryan’s parents did it in Devon whilst Louise and Ryan went to Ibiza.

Several hours before she recorded the podcast she was sedated for egg retrieval - I imagine she will use this as an excuse in a statement at some point. However, Ryan doesn’t shut her down at all. And a week after recording their team uploaded the podcast and the specific clip of the laughing at the issue. So this isn’t a case of someone who misspoke under the effects of anaesthesia …

Is google broken as you could have googled her name with less effort than writing that. I suppose we know you’re far too high brow now though. 😏
