Where’s the threads discussing Louise Thompson?

Expected to come on here and see some threads but there don’t seem to be any? So I’ll be the one to start it. Thoughts?

I think what’s jarring is she couldn’t be bothered to potty train her own son. So her In laws did it whilst her and Ryan were off on another holiday. And he wasn’t that young either. He was quite late. So she has no business commenting. Her own son was also quite late speaking (no judgement from me - mine had glue ear) So anything to do with development she really should stay quiet.

ERthree · 16/05/2026 10:45

Who is Louise Thompson?

Growingaseed · 16/05/2026 10:55

Well clearly her comments & laughter come across incredibly tone death and are very immature. To not mention SEN is pretty ridiculous when that is clearly a factor for many. Bizarre to just be laughing about something which hugely affects the child, the schools, the teachers and the other pupils.

However, it's an issue which needs speaking about on a national level. Children shouldn't be 4 years old and not able to use the toilet (or feed themselves). There is widespread neglect and parent failings going on. It's actually 1 in 3 in the North East. 28% didn't know how to read a book and were trying to swipe or tap as if it was an iPad.

1 in 4 children does not have SEN. In fact many SEN children won't be included in those survey as it only looked at mainstream school reception classes.

Its an absolute disgrace and I feel hugely sorry for the teachers and other pupils who are having their education impacted.

I can well believe there are many kids just sat in front of a screen all day with no parent engagement. I also expect kids who are in nursery 7.30am to 6.30pm, 5 days a week are not having sufficient time with one person to help them develop. Are they expecting the nurseries to potty train them?

But this is the crux of the issue. If she’s saying nurseries etc are to blame she’s showing how out of touch she is.

Fair play OP - you have managed to give this random person a bit of publicity. I don’t believe for a moment that you thought everyone would be talking about it 🙄

Like I said above, I have an autistic daughter who is in nappies at 6 and well as two others who were potty trained by the age of 3. My algorithms perhaps are altered due to this. But I have seen a hell of a lot of people talking about it. Excuse me for assuming it would be well known on a website designed for mums… why does it bother you so much, just scroll on bloody hell.

Tickingcrocodile · 16/05/2026 11:15

I've seen lots about it but I am in lots of SEND parenting groups online where her comments have been widely discussed. Hopefully she now has a better appreciation of the different factors that can be involved in parenting decisions. My own DC were potty trained as soon as they turned two. It doesn't mean I can't appreciate there are reasons why it's harder for some other children. I'm also a primary school teacher and although we do have children who start each year in nappies, I've never yet encountered one who didn't have additional needs.

I don't know who she is or why she merits a thread. So I'll now read the rest of the posts.

It’s some reality woman wanging on about potty training when apparently her kid wasn’t potty trained. The OP was deliberately vague to get people to google 🙄

I actually had no anterior motive, I just wanted to hear the opinions of people who already knew about it. Bloody Nora. If you don’t know what’s going on just scroll on, I’m not bothered if you have an opinion or not. I know plenty of people do and would have seen it. Christ

The issue is she sits in a very privileged bubble and has been absolutely vile about children who aren’t at fault.

I think it’s probably the privileged people more likely in this group.

Which poor people are paying for nappies longer than necessary?

But it’s the assumption that people would know who she is and that everyone would be talking about her words of wisdom. It’s always nice to have some context when posting on a public forum.

Yes I googled in case it was something I should care about. It wasn’t.

If you bother to read the first few posts, nobody knew what you were talking about. I trust you will be replying to them in the same way?

In any case there is always someone ‘famous’ banging on about potty training in the media.

busyd4y · 16/05/2026 14:58

NotDarkGothicMama · 16/05/2026 09:15

I have no idea who she is or what she said. Are you her, OP? What did you say that means we should all be discussing your wisdom?

Hardly as she's been rounded condemned all week 😁

I think they had a point but didn't make it well or clear enough that they weren't talking about children with disabilities or SEN

MyAutumnCrow · 16/05/2026 15:08

Lifesyoungdream · 16/05/2026 09:16

I don’t know who you are talking about. I thought they were in One Direction but I’m old and out of touch.😂

I thought it might be the one who married that footballer and then changed her name again.

CatsOnCushions · 16/05/2026 18:56

Maddy70 · 16/05/2026 10:08

Not really. But if an op can't be bothered to at least put a link on to something several posters have said they know nothing about then why should anyone have to go the effort in order to engage with the op

You don’t have to go to any effort to engage with OP. You do realise it’s not mandatory to engage don’t you? 🤪

powersthatbe · 16/05/2026 09:40

Its not everywhere at all. Not headline news on decent news sites. And if you’re seeing it on your SM feeds its because of your algorithms. You even note in your OP you cant find a thread about it!!

It's everywhere if you're an avid Daily Mail reader

awfulapril · 16/05/2026 19:04

lol @ anterior motive.

SusieMyersonAndAssociates · 16/05/2026 19:07

Reality “star” and influencer calls parents lazy for being career obsessed and stuck on screens…

SusieMyersonAndAssociates · 16/05/2026 19:10

And FWIW children aren’t usually diagnosed SEN by the time they reach reception, so those 1 and 4 are likely children with additional needs. It’s a moot point that she wasn’t laughing at SEN children.

She and her production company are lazy and don’t deserve the forum they’re getting. They’d be better suited to working for the Daily Mail or GB news.

Cosleepingadvice · 16/05/2026 19:16

Here is my opinion -

Yes she had a terrible terrible birth with her child and obviously feels very passionately about maternity safety as a result. However, she is now going to use a surrogate for a her second child. Its not enough that she nearly died - shes happy for someone else to take that risk for a sibling for her. I think that is unbelievably selfish. Not going getting into the issues about 4th trimester and surrogacy as a whole.

Then there is also someone online claiming that her brother plagiarised his book from someone else's campaign.

So frankly, why either of them would have any empathy for children with SEND or medical conditions that make it hard to potty train is hardly surprising. The sooner the pair of them disappear back into a quiet life, the better.

awfulapril · 16/05/2026 19:16

Of course she wasn't talking about special needs kids. It's a fact, kids are not potty trained

Dodorogers · 16/05/2026 19:19

She shouldn’t have laughed however it is just totally untrue that most kids who turn up at school not potty trained are SEND. Modern nappies, waiting for signs of readiness, busy parents and parents who are lazy are too the reason.

Dodorogers · 16/05/2026 19:20

We have turned into all America where everyone wants their increasingly young children to have a diagnosis

So she’s a talentless reality nobody who is going to buy a baby. Fucking hell.

Ubeinserious · 16/05/2026 19:31

I am sorry but there are too many parents not doing what they're ment to, weather its a dummy at school, not potty training or cant talk well cause they shove them in front of a tablet all day...then saying sen. Some parents dont understand its from lazy parenting. Louise never said sen. It's disgusting how lazy parents are now not teaching their perfectly normal kids anything then blame sen. I blame the parents. It's giving gypsy rose vibes innit.
