Hopping back on here for a short time to remember a brilliant woman who died 5 years ago. BitofFun was a huge part of this site and her intelligence, humour and warmth contributed to making it what it is. Always wise, compassionate and incredibly brave in the face of the cancer which took her far too soon.
RIP BitofFun. You are remembered.

Not sure if there are many people still here who knew her. You were lucky if she was your friend.

I remember her. I was only thinking of her yesterday as my son is off to Anglesey for a holiday and I remember BOF hoping to have a holiday there shortly before she died and posting asking for advice about it. Loads of people gave her ideas and suggestions of where to go, what to do. I don't think she ever made it there? Lovely BOF, you are not forgotten.

She is much missed and I still think of her. RIP

I remember her, she was lovely to me when I was going through a bad patch many years ago,

I remember her kindness and warmth, I still think of her from time to time.

I remember her. I have been here for 20 years plus under various user names and she was a big part of the fabric that made MN a warm, supportive and entertaining space.

GumballsAndGobstoppers · 11/05/2026 11:10

I remember her with great affection. She was warm and kind.

She popped into my mind the other day funny enough. She was always lovely on here.

EffortlesslyDistracted · 11/05/2026 11:19

The Pouffe of Poo thread was the funniest thing I have ever read on MN. RIP.

PenelopeAsks · 11/05/2026 11:20

She was a wonderful MNetter. I can’t believe it’s been 5 years. 💐

WhatDoRacoonsSay · 11/05/2026 11:21

I think of her often, a lovely, warm, and very funny woman, gone far too soon. ❤️

TheSpottedZebra · 11/05/2026 11:24

I remember how funny and kind she was.
I remember her amazing greenhouse.
I remember her whenever that bloody Manford appears on my telly! Grin

Theresmagicwheretheflowersgrow · 11/05/2026 11:25

BOF used to regularly encourage posters to respond to unanswered threads which I thought was lovely, it showed how kind and generous she was.
She had a wicked sense of humour, especially when she and Shiney got together on threads. They made me laugh so much and helped me through a very difficult time in my life.
I didn't know her personally but she is not forgotten. RIP BitofFun Flowers

Peridot1 · 11/05/2026 11:26

Definitely not forgotten. Can’t believe it’s been five years.

RIP BitofFun.

I've been thinking about her this morning. I really miss her. :( She was the most incredible person and even when she was really ill she kept in touch with so many people. Was lucky enough to go to her wedding - it was such a wonderful day. Lots of love to MrBoF and everyone else who knew her.

Rbof · 11/05/2026 12:17

Her wedding was a special day. She was so brave not only facing her own situation but because she lost her dad in the days before.
I’m so glad others are thinking about her too.

I was thinking about her the other day and the beautiful portrait her husband had made of her. Can’t remember what put that into my head at the time though because in the battle of memory long term is winning.

HoldMyWine · 11/05/2026 12:45

Yes I remember her and the lovely portrait her husband did of her. She was a warm and welcoming poster.

Tcateh · 11/05/2026 12:46

I remember her, I believe I had a few interactions with her though I can't remember what about.
I do remember her posting up until her death.
I've been on mn about 20 odd yrs.
