Hopping back on here for a short time to remember a brilliant woman who died 5 years ago. BitofFun was a huge part of this site and her intelligence, humour and warmth contributed to making it what it is. Always wise, compassionate and incredibly brave in the face of the cancer which took her far too soon.
RIP BitofFun. You are remembered.

I remember her. I was only thinking of her yesterday as my son is off to Anglesey for a holiday and I remember BOF hoping to have a holiday there shortly before she died and posting asking for advice about it. Loads of people gave her ideas and suggestions of where to go, what to do. I don't think she ever made it there? Lovely BOF, you are not forgotten.

Yes, I remember that thread. Can't believe it's been that long as well. I miss her and the lovely JanH.

I met BoF on the cancer board and she sent me a lovely video message when I was going through a hard time. She was so kind, reaching out to someone she didn’t know when she herself was really suffering. I cannot believe it has been five years.

So many wonderful memories of her.

Another one that's been here over 20 years. It was a different place & we all knew each other so well. I miss those days.

I loved BoF & miss her hugely 💕🌷

I loved her on here and off. I think of her often and miss her a lot. ❤️

I remember her with such great fondness.

Her love for her daughters and her husband shine through. She was an absolutely wonderful concoction of humour and mischief and compassion.

Was lucky enough to meet her a couple of times; she utterly shone.

I remember her - I've been here nearly 20 years and hers was one of the first usernames I noticed and looked out for because she seemed like such a decent kind person.

God that woman drove me half mad. Made me be friends with her against my will, was rude to me every single day, would turn up at my house unannounced on occasion despite me living nowhere near Liverpool, never listened to my advice about not picking up every waif and stray wherever she went, called me a boring prick when I got married, referred to my husband as a ‘little Tory cunt’ (that was a classic tbf), rinsed me for money on the regular, would call me at 2am ‘for a chat’ (she never got one) and threatened me with a haunting if I didn’t go and visit her (150 miles away) in the week before she died.

My best pal, so dearly departed ♥️

JenniferJupiterr · 11/05/2026 23:39

@Theresmagicwheretheflowersgrow ha thanks! I hope you’re feeling better now and she’d be thrilled she’d helped you! As of course am I x

Beautiful BOF. Gosh I can’t believe it’s been five years. Time flies.

MJFEB2026 · 12/05/2026 00:32

Can’t believe it’s been 5 years ☹️

Elleherd · 12/05/2026 06:51

One of life's good people. Not forgotten and remembered with a smile.
Left the party way too soon.

LindorDoubleChoc · 12/05/2026 06:59

She was wise, hilarious and beautiful in equal measure. I often think of her.

Tiddlywinks63 · 12/05/2026 07:31

Gosh, 5 years….
Such an inspiring and compassionate person, wonderful sense of humour too.
I hope she’s gallivanting around somewhere over the rainbow, with all the other inspiring women who’ve died from this hideous disease.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 12/05/2026 07:36

I remember the portrait of her she shared that her DH had stretched, beautiful.

Delici · 12/05/2026 07:39

She was incredibly kind to me.
Everything that she was going through and she still managed to support others while having a laugh!
