Hopping back on here for a short time to remember a brilliant woman who died 5 years ago. BitofFun was a huge part of this site and her intelligence, humour and warmth contributed to making it what it is. Always wise, compassionate and incredibly brave in the face of the cancer which took her far too soon.
RIP BitofFun. You are remembered.

I remember her as well.

Piknik · 11/05/2026 15:42

I remember the portrait - it was quite 60s style - made her look like some sort of rock/model/goddess - stunning woman.

Piknik · 11/05/2026 15:44

I found it 😍

Beautiful woman from every angle - a real standout human.

I remember her. I have been here for 20 years plus under various user names and she was a big part of the fabric that made MN a warm, supportive and entertaining space.

Same. She was so warm and bright.

I remember her. What a lovely thread and a lovely legacy. ❤️

EmeraldShamrock000 · 11/05/2026 15:53

Yes. Of course.
Very sad heartbreaking loss.

squeaver · 11/05/2026 16:02

I hardly ever come on here so how funny to see this thread as soon as I do.
She really was everything everyone is saying - and absolutely razor-sharp. Very much of the old howling-with-laughter-can't-type-fast-enough-to-get-a-reply-in times.

We need a new Talk topic for funny, warm, gentle, good-hearted things. Meanness and snideness verboten. MN could call it 'Bit Of Fun' in her honour.

Potooooooooes · 11/05/2026 19:17

That portrait 😍.

How can it be five years already?

Sending love to BoF's family. A fine mumsnetter.

hiredandsqueak · 11/05/2026 19:45

I remember BoF, such a warm and kind and beautiful woman. I can't believe it has been 5 years already. I hope her family are doing well.

I think of her often as I’m a member of the book club she set up on Facebook.

She really was a lovely person. I hope her DDs and Dh are doing well. Flowers

I remember her too. I was also on the cancer board at the time. It is a strange thing (online and offline), when you survive but some around you do not. Lovely woman.

Raven08 · 11/05/2026 21:07

I remember her kindness.
RIP BoF 💙

TheBeaTgoeson1 · 11/05/2026 21:14
