Do others find YouTubers false and their content oddly manipulative?

I want to come on here and raise a topic of youtubers. I believe them to be false. I dont understand how anyone can document their life for anyone to watch. People can message them in the comments and they will message back they are doing so to hook people into subscribing in order to get more viewers. They start off on their video by saying hello friends. I find that totally false. They draw you in and you watch them and thinking you know all about them. I started watching one but got so fed up of the boring content that I stopped watching. Its just a false of entertainment for daddy's and vulnerable gullible people who should go out and get a life.

Agreed

You are watching the wrong stuff! What are your interests? YouTube is massive, we are huge history fans here. We watch loads of YouTube and there are some great creators there doing stuff all around history, British and world history. Oversimplified for one, his Henry VIIIth video is really funny.
We also like music and comedy.

Sime good archaeology content on there and wildlife stuff too. Creators getting out there and sharing their finds, I love it.

The influencer stuff is dull as ditch water, I wouldn’t waste time even looking for it so totally in agreement with you on that score.

I have some mind blowing news for you. Not all you tubers are the same. The problem you are having is the content you are watching. If you want to find a lecture by a university professor on a highly niche academic subject then you will probably find it. If you want to find people interviewing a range of leading thinkers then you will find it. Equally if you want to watch some dickhead showing you round their house you will also find it. Maybe the problem is the kind of content you are looking for and at.

The dickhead as you say was actually the oxford PHD student. They are far from dickheads. Having said that my uncle went to Oxford and did a PHD. He found out samuously later that someone on his course got his phd , but then could not cope outside of university turn to drugs and eventually took a drugs overdose

'Ooh look at my bedroom I've got an en suite bathroom 🙄'

I was referring to this quote where it seemed to me that it was you suggesting that you tubers are dickheads.

What point are you making, though? Did you think people with doctorates were magically immune to MH difficulties?
