A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour* *government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Labour think only they can beat Reform. They don’t get they’re driving Reform’s success.

I wonder if BP is brave enough to go on Camilla Tominey this morning? She does sometimes, so that will be interesting.

I’d be surprised if she did.

EasternStandard · 10/05/2026 09:20

More soundbites and lack of understanding. It’s quite something.

Hallowedturf · 10/05/2026 09:21

IT’S NOT ABOUT TELLING A BETTER STORY, BP.

FGS.

Totally agree.....they just don't understand it, yet they have a nerve to go around calling others thick. The more they dig into this hole, the more they lose.

It’s bizarre to listen to BP. But I think they all don’t get it. Maybe a couple could get closer but it’s just what how removed can you be.

Upstartled · 10/05/2026 09:31

Ooh, she is on Tominey. I'm not going to get much done this morning.

Great! She screeched on TP and screeched on LK and behaved quite deplorably IMO.

Can't wait for round 3!

DancingFerret · 10/05/2026 09:38

BP on Kuenssberg this morning, same old - refusing to answer questions while banging on about Labour's success in "lifting children out of poverty". There's little substance to this vacuum of a woman other than tunnel vision and pure spite.

Boohoo76 · 10/05/2026 09:41

BP has the cheak to express her concern about the division in this country…but she was quite happy to stoke up division herself against “rich people” using private schools. She is disgusting.

DeposedPresident · 10/05/2026 09:41

The interview with CT was filmed earlier. Maybe before the others and might be why she then became so cross. She's certainly calmer in this one.... so far.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 10/05/2026 09:42

Oh she did!

Exactly. And her horrible statements about private school kids not being 'our children'. And sharp-elbowed middle class parents. And... and ... and .... their disgusting stripping mid-academic year of funding for the IB in the state sector... and and and....

justasking111 · 10/05/2026 09:47

Friends daughter doing PhD neuroscience at university wanted to study autism for personal reasons. Labour have cut research funding to the bone. The money is being poured into Alzheimer's and dementia. So she's concentrating on that.

I guess old age is costing a lot more than children..

Upstartled · 10/05/2026 09:50

Oh, here we go, this is where BP's morning turned to shit.

Another MP

Labour MP Josh Simons has been highly critical of Prime Minister Keir Starmer's leadership, stating that Starmer has "lost the country" and is "stuck in a politics of incrementalism".

In a recent article in The Times, he argued that Labour risks "marching towards extinction" and that the party's actions "do not meet the moment".

SionnachRuadh · 10/05/2026 09:59

Oof. Josh Simons is significant. That means he's lost Labour Together.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 10/05/2026 10:00

‘Voters feel we have not delivered for them’.

Silly voters!

He writes well and seems well-meaning, but I deeply disagree with him that what we need is 'radical reform' and 'demotion' of our institutions.

Incrementalism is by far the most effective way to improve a complex system - which is what the UK is.

It just needs to be incrementalism in the right direction, with a careful long-term plan which looks many steps ahead but adjusts as needed, and the occasional big push to build something new before removing what it is replacing.

And crucially, which is laser focussed on real outcomes and delivery.

strawberrybubblegum · 10/05/2026 10:16

The government really should get some experienced industry leaders to help them. This is exactly what businesses do. It's hard, but they succeed.

Why on earth do we have a government made up of people who have only ever worked in politics, and a leadership contender who has no gcses?!?

They are like toddlers with a bulldozer.

strawberrybubblegum · 10/05/2026 10:18

(sorry, too late to fix typo: " 'demolition' of our institutions" not demotion)

Yes I agree with you.

DrasticAction · 10/05/2026 10:24

I can't take BP seriously at all talking about low attainment when pupils who can't read are locked out of education and I can't get behind anyone who can't understand not all DC are the same and need different reading schemes to learn to read. It's so simple and obvious.
