Missing cats are such a worry @Evenstar. Hope he wanders in soon. Is he chipped? A friend got hers back after months due to the chip.

@cardibach yes he is, we have posters up, he is all over Facebook and we have let the vet and the chip company know as well. We have had only one possible sighting which was about a mile from home. He never really goes out of sight of the house normally.

I won’t give up hope, one of my other cats was missing for five months and then turned up in a field the other side of town, we never worked out how she had ended up there. She and the other cat that has gone missing are not the sort to approach strangers or get into a van etc.
