I’m not talking about going on marches, but minor things, that you know about.

Mine is I won’t play Michael Jackson songs, after all the alleged behaviour, which certainly wouldn’t be accepted by today’s standards.

The second is I won’t buy McCain products, after they put out an advert for Smileys, which referred to ‘knocker’s’ in them. I thought that language had died out in the seventies.

"Patriarchy chicken" every single day! It's a daily dose of fun and appreciating being a woman.

How do you know he was innocent?

How do you know he was guilty?

I won’t set foot in Lush or Co-op. I won’t buy Ben & Jerry’s. I won’t watch anything with Mark Ruffalo, Susan Sarandon or Javier Bardem. I have a t shirt that says Shalom Motherfucker on it that I only wear indoors or with something on top of it, but I find extremely cheering even so. I wear a teeny tiny Star of David on a bracelet, it’s so small you’d have to be looking for it to see it, but I know it’s there

What has Mark Ruffalo done? He's my secret crush, I don't think I can bear it if he's not one of the good guys

How do you know he was guilty?

How do we know Jimmy Savile was guilty?

His government really could have done better in India. Millions died in the Bengal famine.

He was also responsible for the shooting of Welsh miners during the the miners strike though this has been glossed over by those who write history.

I mean…he spoke out against ICE at an awards ceremony and wore a badge with Renee Good’s name on it. Monster.

I scroll to find used make up products on Vinted then report the seller.

Ooooh! This is my kind of hobby! Nice.

oatmilkthesecond · 20/04/2026 18:58

I quit Facebook years ago after watching the social network.

I refuse to shop in a local deli because the owner is a creep to women and kids.

I won’t buy anything with palm oil in. (Rainforests)

I stopped flying about 15 years ago (bar one short unavoidable one 10 years ago). Seemed like the most impactful thing we could at the time but as time goes on feels less rebellious and more like an act of self sabotage. I miss going places. We get places on the train of course but I don’t have 6 months to travel to New Zealand!

OotontheRandan · 20/04/2026 19:00

I also use "human made" instead of "man made" as a term. I am increasingly bored of man being the default term for human.

Bluebellsparklypant · 20/04/2026 19:01

I let buses out at junctions whenever I can and stop for pedestrians to cross when there is a traffic island. I have to drive due to disability but it is my little way of supporting pedestrians and public transport

love this,
I stop for pedestrians to let them cross too especially if they have a dog (and it also annoys my husband secret bonus)

Modernfamily2011 · 20/04/2026 19:02

@Dappy777 - Completely agree, I’m so fed up with the St George flag being seen as Racist, if people want to fly their flag, why is that a bad thing with people feeling the need to tear them down?
How DARE we fly the flag of our country 🙄

AnnaQuayRules · 20/04/2026 18:36

Nothing to do with palm oil as someone has suggested - I mean, that might be an additional reason now but not the original (and still valid) reason for the boycott.

Nestle have broken WHO guidance about the marketing of baby milk formula in developing countries. Their actions have led to the deaths of thousands of babies. If you Google "Baby Milk Action" or "Nestle Boycott" you'll learn quite a lot.

Thank you. Literally learnt all of this today, I hadn’t ever read any of this before. Wow!

Bless. What is an expensive car to you?

How passive aggressive and patronising.

So you're rich, or think you are, and think that this means you can look down on others.

Grow up.

Depending on the age of the child that’s surely a normal thing to say?!

No, you say "person" not "man"

I don’t go to Pret A Manger as they didn’t give a shit about labelling their products even if that resulted in anaphilaxis reactions and a death. They may label properly now but under duress.

i don’t buy bottled water, I find the fact that we have been convinced to fork out good money, for something so basic and essential, atrocious. And that is before we consider the stupid amount of extra plastic we need to deal with.

The last one is more controversial, I chose not to recycle plastic, not because I don’t care but because as a country, we use more plastic than what we need to recycle so what is not recycled is sold to poorer countries, we are basically paying them to get our rubbish out of our view and our conscience and without our recycle means they are only polluting their own countries or poisoning their populations when they burn it, so I choose to use as little plastic as I can rather than recycling it.

Agree about the bottled water, which can be more expensive than petrol.

I love the idea for the Suffragetes Movement

I address post to Mrs and Mr XYZ instead of Mr and Mrs XYZ

so you never say eg "I haven't seen your Dad for ages, How is he?" or "if you are looking for Jane, she's not in today."

MyDandyUmberDuck · 20/04/2026 19:23

I try to avoid buying from big companies that don’t pay taxes. 🤦‍♀️ Try being the operative word. Amazon can be so damn convenient! 😫

I suppose I might be! I'm tired of people being bigoted / offensive /bitter towards e.g. wealthier people they perceive as 'rich' or 'posh', private school kids etc etc etc. Apparently this behaviour is acceptable, but it's not acceptable the other way. So someone saying they look away from a person driving a fancy car (I honestly can't remember the term used) did tickle my radar ref these people.

It's literally the flash/souped up cars I'm referring to.

And all I do is not look at them as they drive past as I assume they want attention.

Chill your boots.

Aren't these all colours? like there's so many different gender queen flags now.
