I’m not talking about going on marches, but minor things, that you know about.

Mine is I won’t play Michael Jackson songs, after all the alleged behaviour, which certainly wouldn’t be accepted by today’s standards.

The second is I won’t buy McCain products, after they put out an advert for Smileys, which referred to ‘knocker’s’ in them. I thought that language had died out in the seventies.

If a fancy car drives past, I deliberately look the other way, so as not to give them the attention they want 😁!
ha ha, me toooo
also do the same for souped up cars that make loud exhaust noises

I do this! I thought I was the only one.

Also, if a young lad (it's usually a young lad) drives past with a bike or car with the silencer removed, I always look concerned and sympathetic, and if they happen to need to stop near me, I lean in and tell them I think something's wrong with their car.

Long ago I was walking back from lunch along Kennington Road, just towards the Lambeth Road traffic lights. Suddenly a massive pile of fish and chips and papers landed at my feet (I think it was meant to hit me). The traffic lights had gone red, so the white van with 3 young men who had chucked it at me was stationary. I picked it all up and threw it back in through their window. All the bits of fish, crispy batter and cold chips went absolutely everywhere in the cabin and all over them.

Luckily the lights then went green and the idiots had to drive off (or yes, I would probably have been for the high jump). What made my day was when an elderly lady came over and congratulated me. She actually had tears in her eyes!!!

I hate litter louts.,

An area near me has put up loads of England flags, but the most annoying are the tiny ones like on hand held flags that have been stapled to trees. I know trees arent racist so on my way walking through the area I remove them.

Do you get triggered by the Palestinian flag too or just the English or union flag? Can't wait for st George's day.

Flowerlovinglady · 20/04/2026 15:50

Scratching cars (keying as it is commonly known). I thought I was responding to someone who said they scratch cars that are parked on the pavement - just pointing out that they might not want to admit to that!

LittleWeasel · 20/04/2026 15:50

Since the print strike of the 80s I refuse to read or subscribe to any newspaper or broadcaster that is part of Murdoch’s empire

Helpwithdressing · 20/04/2026 15:50

I won’t watch any films with Mark Wahlberg in after reading about him committing violent racist attacks.

I also stop watching films/programmes with racist sentiments in them - even if those are against white people.

How would you know this? I have two beautiful pedigree dogs that I assume you’d think were bought from a breeder?

They were actually rescued from being breeding machines at a puppy farm, and look so ‘perfect’ that that’s what led to them being kept, abused and exploited in horrendous conditions until they were medically unable to produce any more litters and then were about to be discarded. Breeders want the most beautiful, breed typical pups so that’s who they use as their incubators.

Walking my pack, you’d assume I bought a load of designer dogs, when the reality is far from that.

Sorry, I meant if I know - so if I know their dogs are rescues I'm super nice. If I know they bought them, I'm not.

I also have a pedigree who was rescued from a puppy mill Sad

There is a shop in Rye that sells ‘trendy edgy arty’ gifts and household stuff. They sell doormats stacked outside with ‘witty’ misogynistic jokes on them about which women are un/welcome

Every time I go past I turn the top couple upside down

Love it. Well done @ArtAngel

When I lived in Ireland me and a friend went around painting glasses on the faces of every politician standing for office. We also wrote "should of gone to specsavers" it was brilliant. We also used to do traffic lights smiley face on green sad face on red.

Agree generally with your sentiment but thought it necessary to point out that not all breeders are puppy mills. Some are very ethical and keen to breed healthy and happy puppies which are then carefully matched to the appropriate home after rigorous vetting.

I avoid a local restaurant that sacked my child over a shift miscommunication - a long time ago .
Same for a local shop run by a customer of my work ,can't stand the owner .
Do not buy duchy of cornwall products -they are rich enough !
Do not let anyone pull out in a car if they are not indicating.
Do not pay my council tax by direct debit or on the date they want it.
If a customer requires my service in my job and they are rude to my lovely receptionists i will make them wait longer when i could actually do what they want much sooner, i am more than happy to help the vast majority of my lovely customers.
When my kids were at school , i thought nothing of telling a lie to get them a day off if we had something better to do as a family.

AfternoonVanessa · 20/04/2026 16:06

I don't buy any Shein,Temru etc. I'd rather have secondhand.

Don't eat/ drink in Starbucks, Cafe Nero ( they opened without planning permission in our town).

Didn't watch Strictly 25 after a person from 2024 was charged with rape.

Refuse to buy from our local hospice shops after the CEO was paid £175k. He went on tv to say he couldn't pay nurses so was closing beds.

I'm happy to meet trans people but I'm not doing gender. Call yourself Shirley but I'm not doing she if you're a TW. Ditto TM and I have skin in the game.

Won't accept a job with a male boss.

Refuse to hide my age. 60 and proud.

Expect men to open doors (I'm disabled). If they don't they get the end of my tongue. I also accept seats if they're offered.

Refuse to pay at self service in Marks and Spencer. At those prices I want service and people to have jobs.

I call doctors , Dr, I expect the same.

Refused to go into Sainsburys after they security checked my non white husbands bags twice in a row.

I don't respect people who buy puppies regardless of whether they are from ethical, wonderful, happy puppy farms breeders.

Rescue centres are stacked full of dogs in need of a home. If you want a dog, rescue one.

My dog was rescued from a puppy mill that was being operated by a very well-respected breeder.
'Out front' he ran an incredible operation exactly as you've described.
But 'out back' he kept dozens of dogs in tiny cages, bred from them until they were useless to him, and then left them to die of starvation or shot them.
So, no thanks.

I don’t buy products that I know are unethical or support political positions that don’t align with mine-looking at you, Heck sausages and Warburtons. I get great pleasure from acts of micro feminism-for example, I always use she/her are always my default pronouns.

Aw christ, don’t tell me Heck are pro-Brexit or something are they? I seek out their sausages as they have such a high meat content

ButterPiesAreGreat · 20/04/2026 16:12

I am a long time Nestle boycotter
I refuse to fly Ryanair as their CEO annoys the hell out of me
I won’t go in Wetherspoons for the same reason (my kids ignore this 🫣😀)

My pettiest is I worked for a company and acquired a new boss who appeared not to like me. Without consulting anyone, he decided to merge my role with another role which had little overlap with experience and I ended up taking voluntary redundancy the next day after HR gave him a bollocking (and two weeks before Christmas). I owned some shares in the company and every time he was up for re-election as a director, I took pleasure in voting against him until he left.

Can we have a national boycott of “should of”, “would of” and “could of” please?

I don’t buy Hunky Dory crisps as they ran a very sexist ad campaign a few years back.

When forced to self checkout, I ditch a percentage of the products I was planning to purchase and leave them on the side. If everyone did this, they would employ more staff. They are not giving me any money off for self checkout. And it’s my small act of rebellion.

I don't wish to derail the thread, so won't post on this again, but I can't say nothing whilst you defame all the reputable breeders that are busting a gut to keep it ethical and responsible, just because you know of one breeder who was really just a front for a mill. If you want to start a separate thread on the subject I'll happily join in and provide some insights on how decent breeders operate. I think you would be surprised.

Similarly I put good books on top of / in front of books promoting trans/non-binary ideologies

Again though the only person affected is some poor employee

I won’t set foot in Lush or Co-op. I won’t buy Ben & Jerry’s. I won’t watch anything with Mark Ruffalo, Susan Sarandon or Javier Bardem. I have a t shirt that says Shalom Motherfucker on it that I only wear indoors or with something on top of it, but I find extremely cheering even so. I wear a teeny tiny Star of David on a bracelet, it’s so small you’d have to be looking for it to see it, but I know it’s there

AfternoonVanessa · 20/04/2026 16:18

I don't use Vision Express after they charged my student daughter £300 for glasses. She's not Paris Hilton!

I won't buy a Volvo again after the salesman told my husband and I he didn't have time for 'walk ins'.
We ordered a new countryman across the road.
