I’m not talking about going on marches, but minor things, that you know about.

Mine is I won’t play Michael Jackson songs, after all the alleged behaviour, which certainly wouldn’t be accepted by today’s standards.

The second is I won’t buy McCain products, after they put out an advert for Smileys, which referred to ‘knocker’s’ in them. I thought that language had died out in the seventies.

I let buses out at junctions whenever I can and stop for pedestrians to cross when there is a traffic island. I have to drive due to disability but it is my little way of supporting pedestrians and public transport

My partner laughs at me as I always call myself “a friend of the bus” and always stop to let them out if I can 🤣

As much as I do it to be nice (and because they’re carrying much more people than my car) it does also work both ways as I’ve had a few friendly bus drivers spot me waiting and let me out! I live in a very rural area so I assume they must recognise the friendly cars 😅

Hammy19 · 20/04/2026 11:15

I block every single page or advert on FB that doesn't interest me because it's become basically just a site of advertising and I am annoyed that I barely get to see updates from my actual friends/family

I know that there are hundreds of millions of this junk on there so I'll never achieve anything but it makes me feel better somehow

TreatHerLikeALady · 20/04/2026 11:15

I have to send letters out in my job. I always put the woman's name first, then their partners. Childish I know, oh well 😅

TheHungryHungryLandsharks · 20/04/2026 11:15

Deliberately park next to cars that are partly in the space I want - even if there are no other cars in the car-park. I also always position myself (either driving or forward) so that my passenger side is on their drivers side. Means they can't get in other than climbing over the passenger seat or going through the boot.

Sometimes, if there's a coffee shop nearby and parking is only for 30 minutes or so, I'll buy a coffee and sit outside the shop and watch until they come back.

Can you name this bank for us please so we can choose to bank with a company whose staff are not giving our money away to customers who don't deserve it?

Second this.

I imagine that poster giving away a few hundred extra pounds made essentially no difference whatsoever to overall profits. I’d also assume that staff were monitored on how many of these £100 payments they were giving out, and if it was higher than a given budget, they’d be spoken to (or their manager would be spoken to and the message would filter down).

It's true.
I was spoken to.
Though I didn't care. Its not my fault if their rules are so open to interpretation. 🤣

TheEveningReport · 20/04/2026 11:18

I don’t mask or people please anymore. It’s a blessed relief and I feel so much more confident.

Ilovecheeseyah · 20/04/2026 11:18

Ryan air - yesterday I put my hand luggage in the sizing basket and it fitted but they said it was bending the metal by a couple cm and charged me 70 pounds.

Once landed at Salzburg airport, people were starting to disembark and I politely asked to used the loo and they refused due to “refueling”. None in sight.

I don’t need this level of nastiness in my life. Obvious antipathy towards the customers.

Hope that karma bites them on the ass!

What has the Strike books go to do with the HP movies?

Did you really need a reminder as to how awful Watson is???

That’s true. No one needs a reminder of Emma Watson’s year 6 school play enunciation. Grin

I’m guessing you are joking about the connection between HP and Strike, yes?

Crosorbled · 20/04/2026 11:19

I enter via the exit in certain supermarkets and attempt to exit without scanning my receipt, where possible.I object to being herded like cattle in supermarkets via their barriers . I am not a shoplifter !

Wtf, what is wrong with you? You know that people might park a bit funny because they need to get infirm older adult passengers or small children out or they simply need more space due to crappy knees that don’t bend as well as they used to? Who made you boss of the car park?

Well they don't work for a bank any more, and just as well. That kind of behaviour is likely to result in the ability of customer services assistants to compensate customers where they've been let down being removed to a higher authority, and everyone is worse off.

I get thoroughly peed off with the so often expressed opinion that because organisation are big and make a lot of profit that there's no victim if people steal from it. What that customer service agent did was little diffeent from someone on the till at Tesco passing items through unscanned.

What's all this about exiting supermarkets with a receipt? I've never seen this! What if you didn't buy anything??

I turn pro self ID books round on shop shelves if they’re being promoted.

I like to put Julie Bindel's books in front of Shon Faye's or whatever he's called.

The Government/any government should change the way these big corporations are taxed given they offshore to Luxembourg for tax purposes and we lose the revenue.
Looking at you Ebay/Amazon and many more.

Tax profits at the point of revenue or f**k off out.
Surely with >70m residents our Government has the power to do that.

Absolutely. I completely agree 👍

I won’t be going to the USA or Israel for as long as they have those men running their country.

How about Iran instead? Lovely holiday destination 😂

Well clearly you don't rebel against anything.
Which is not in the spirit of this thread.
So. Not sure what you were really expecting

In some sainsbury stores, to leave the self service area, which is now gated, you have to scan your receipt to prove you aren't a thief.

I refused to put my pronouns on my work email and I wouldn't give my pronouns to put on my new name badge. It's obvious I'm a woman and I have a woman's name. I worked in a university so it didn't go down well so I told them not to be so ridiculous

Yet you took time to comment…

Well yes because I think it's a shame! I have a friend who is always stressed because she burdens herself with the notion that the world gives a fuck about her futile acts of defiance. She absolutely exhausts herself with conscientious choices and none of it makes any difference.

The secret to happiness is knowing what you can influence and what you can't. The world will never match your ideals of how it should look. Get over it 😁
