I’m not talking about going on marches, but minor things, that you know about.

Mine is I won’t play Michael Jackson songs, after all the alleged behaviour, which certainly wouldn’t be accepted by today’s standards.

The second is I won’t buy McCain products, after they put out an advert for Smileys, which referred to ‘knocker’s’ in them. I thought that language had died out in the seventies.

Werzmyhedat - it’s applicable in Lidl , parts of Sainsbury’s . You would need to call a staff member for assistance if you had not purchased anything.

I do this
Patrichary chicken

I rammed a mans legs with my granddaughter s buggy on the school run recently. He walked diagonally across me and I would have risked being left in traffic if I'd given way. He apologised profusely but it was spectacularly patriarchal and my husband told him to be more careful in future or high I then had to point out was fairly patriarchal of itself

TheFifthTellytubby · 20/04/2026 11:38

I keep my new, dark blue UK passport in a holder with the EU flag on the front!😁

DrySherry · 20/04/2026 11:40

I haven't bought a tv licence since Covid started. Its not a cheat, we never watched much tv anyway - and moving to no live broadcasts was easy. I recommend it.

Cailin66 · 20/04/2026 11:42

I wear a suffragete laynard for my work badge and also have a Terf coke bottle pin stuck in it. My laynard also says :

woman adult human female.

Work is very 'woke' and I sabotaged their attempts to get us to use pronouns.

When people in officialdom are not helpful I pretend I'm stupid to get what I want.

Michael Jackson was innocent.

AllaMova · 20/04/2026 11:42

I send Reform letters back to them via their Freepost address. Apparently, it costs them £2.50 per letter sent.

I always address the woman first in emails and any cards sent.

I refuse to use AI.

etak8891 · 20/04/2026 11:43

I won’t buy tayto crisps as the owner is a dirty fox hunter. I won’t go to a very popular fancy shop where I live cause the delivery man to the shop was very rude to me about where I parked once but didn’t say anything to a man who had parked the same way. I won’t go to chain coffee places, taste too synthetic. I didn’t change my name when I got married cause i already have a name. I’m expecting a baby soon, i want him to also have my surname in his name. I don’t like lush either. I won’t buy make up or jewellery from places that use hairy men models. Sorry just does not appeal to me

Bloozie · 20/04/2026 11:46

Refuse to buy Brewdog because the former owner is a cunt.

Same with Dyson, except he's the current owner.

Refuse to buy Lucy & Yak even though I like a lot of the clothes because the owners are fake hippies, I know a few people who've worked for them and they are apparently not good people.

Deleted Twitter years ago, would never buy a Tesla or anything Musk touches.

Won't visit America even though we have family there until Trump and MAGA are both dead and gone. Our stateside relatives entirely understand.

Won't visit Turkey even though it's cheap and we're broke.

Go out of my way to positively comment on every local authority post about food waste recycling because the local opposition is baffling and ill-informed.

Co-ordinate Amazon shops with my husband and 'save' our orders for once a month, to reduce the insanity of a constant stream of parcels arriving like the world revolves around us. Really should just stop using Amazon, for all sorts of reasons.

DreamyScroller · 20/04/2026 11:48

I like to pull down anti-Semitic flyers I see around where I live (Bradford).

Obviously I'm not going to kid myself that anything I do is going to change the world, but it makes me feel better.

Tootingbec · 20/04/2026 08:37

Slightly less rebellious now, but didn’t “share” my pronouns at the height of pronoun pronouncements on email and LinkedIn profiles. Felt particularly petty rebellious because I used to deliver D&I programmes at work 😎

Don’t by Starbucks as they don’t pay proper tax in the UK.

Sadly can’t quite give up Amazon for the same reasons

Forgot to mention at work I was on the Diversity team, and was tasked with getting everyone to do their pronouns. LOL. Found the maddest list of pronouns ever, about a 100 of them, cat ones and all, sent that out, nobody ever used their pronouns.

Emmz1510 · 20/04/2026 11:49

I agree on Michael Jackson and I feel a bit nauseated that that movie is about to be released celebrating him. My husband thinks he is innocent and in any case that he should be treated as if he is because he died unconvicted. I don’t listen to his music and I won’t be watching the movie.
No one could have watched those two men talking about their experiences of sexual abuse and possibly think he was innocent.
He paid the Chandler family millions to shut them up. What does that say about him?
He dangled his baby out of a fecking window!

Yes I must admit I'd do that too if I saw it!

I endeavour not to use services/companies which have kowtowed to the mob and stopped using Israeli products

I boycot Israeli products - can’t be supporting genocide!!

Anti semitic or anti genocide? It’s an important distinction

Shoxfordian · 20/04/2026 11:54

Also agree on Michael Jackson, don't know how there are still movies and musicals about him. Have removed Chris Brown, P Diddy and Kanye from my playlists because of their actions, can't listen to them anymore either. Have suspicions on bob dylan so don't listen to him.

Don't care about Starbucks, palm oil, amazon

Didn't change my name when I got married, don't think women need kids to be happy

Lifeomars · 20/04/2026 11:55

timeforteaandcakes · 20/04/2026 08:28

I also won’t listen to Micheal Jackson music, terrible man.

That new bio pic about him is out/due out soon and only covers the early part of his career, which will of course promote the myth and won't address the abuse. Jackson is played by one of his nephews so it will be a sanatised version

duckfordinner · 20/04/2026 11:58

I don’t watch mainstream news. Taught my child that there are only two genders and its non negotiable.

sunnydisaster · 20/04/2026 11:58

Try not to buy Nestle - I don’t buy much packaged food of that variety anyway. Mainly because of what they’ve done to indigenous communities in the Amazon.
I never buy Shein or Temu, but I do use Amazon - would prefer not to but there’s often items I can’t get anywhere else.
Would never shop in Lush now for many reasons.

Agree re Michael Jackson. Idk why he’s still so lauded.

SerafinasGoose · 20/04/2026 11:59

Beachtastic · 20/04/2026 11:29

Well yes because I think it's a shame! I have a friend who is always stressed because she burdens herself with the notion that the world gives a fuck about her futile acts of defiance. She absolutely exhausts herself with conscientious choices and none of it makes any difference.

The secret to happiness is knowing what you can influence and what you can't. The world will never match your ideals of how it should look. Get over it 😁

No one is under any real illusion that the world mostly does give a fuck. But incremental change is the way we British do things. Evolution, not revolution.

This uplifting thread shows a group of people living in accordance with their own principles and own value systems. That's integrity. Intergrity matters.

Example. If enough people refuse to part with personal information just because someone chooses to ask for it, there will be fewer demands for personal information. And there's a very definite personal advantage in that your letterbox will be less bombarded with landfill as a result of your details being sold on.

Another example. If enough people take enough of a stance on announcing pronouns or sharing one-sex facilities then the result just might be an unambiguous clarification of the law, after which a clear legal precedent is now being set. For Women Scotland met and mobilised on Mumsnet, did you know?

No-one is ‘for’ genocide.

Nogimachi · 20/04/2026 12:02

I try to avoid Amazon due to their working practices.
I avoid Shein, Temu etc.
I would never buy anything Israeli after their extended campaign of violence this year.

I jump in front of the bastards that cycle/limebike/escooter on the pavement and say loudly, "This is the pavement, see that stretch of tarmac over there is is called a road". I am going to get run over or stabbed on of these days but I am sick of having to dodge these selfish inconsiderate mainly men. Some of the pavements round where I live are really narrow to I have to walk in the road to aviod being mown down. I have even had an escooter ride into my back and the man on it swore at me to "fuck off out of the way" I hate then with a passion, just use the roads
