Where do you keep your handbag?

This is a random question but where do people keep their handbags when you are at home? I'm in a small terrace so space is somewhat lacking. I normally end up keeping my handbag at the bottom of the stairs by the front door or beside the back door at the kitchen (to prompt myself to remember what I need when I'm heading out) but it just looks so cluttered and gets in the way especially if it's there for a couple of days.

I don't have a cloakroom, just a coat stand at the front door which my bag would be too heavy for.

Any other clever suggestions for where people keep theirs?

I keep mine in the wardrobe on a shelf.

If I've been out, mine is in the living room next to the TV unit, I take it up to my bedroom when I go to bed. If I've not been out, it stays in my bedroom.

In the under the stairs cupboard, together with coats and shoes

On my bedroom floor usually. If I’m in and out all day I hang it on the coat hooks by the front door.

In the hallway on an over the door hook. (There's a door between my front hallway and the living room.

My work bag lives next to my desk in my office, my actual bag lives in the wardrobe, I never really use a bag day to day.

Downstairs in the daytime and next to me at night with my asthma inhaler in the top of it. I have specific place for it to be upstairs and down. I could never see having important stuff like a handbag as clutter

I keep mine on one of the dining chairs, tucked in under the table .

In my bedroom on the side by the door.

There's a small shelf unit by the front door. It lives on the bottom shelf.

In my bedroom. I like to switch bags quite often so it’s easier this way as I keep them all in a bedroom cupboard.

I know you don't have one, but I have a coat cupboard in the hallway. There's a drawer on the bottom where bags, shopping bags, scarves, hats and gloves are put away neatly shoved in any old way.

I don’t always use a bag but I keep them in my wardrobe.

My work bag is the only one I use regularly and it's a back pack that sits near my seat where I wfh. The bags I use otherwise are kept empty in a bag organiser thing that hangs on the back of the closet door.

It literally lives in my car at all times, which I rarely lock. 😂 We live in the absolute middle of nowhere. In 15 years, never had anything stolen. You’d be hard pressed to find us.

Mine stays down by the side of my chair, always has done. I know where it is at all times then. I've never been one for carting it round the house!

In my bedroom, but I'm in a flat so the rooms are all on the same level. I'd probably keep it downstairs if I lived in a house otherwise I'd forget it.

The bag I use day to day I take upstairs and leave by my bed at night. I'm a bit paranoid that if I left it downstairs and someone broke in overnight it would be too easy to just grab it and go, as its got my purse in with all my bank cards.

My best friend’s home was burgled while they were sleeping. Her mum’s handbag was stolen with purse credit cards and keys etc. it was in the hall where she left it when she came home from work. The police told to never leave a handbag downstairs unattended. I’ve remembered that from that day and always take my bag upstairs to the bedroom when I go to bed.

TBH If someone is breaking in while I’m asleep I’d rather they take my bag out of the hall than come upstairs to where I’m sleeping because they can’t find anything left out downstairs. My cards can be cancelled in seconds.
