Husband insists moon landings were faked and 9/11 was a false flag secret operation the Americans did to themselves

I am désolé
My husband, he tell me he really believe there has never been a moon landing and that the 9/11 attacks were faked too.
I was in New York on 9/11
He knows this
He keeps saying things that have been disproven as conspiracy theory myths.
I wonder if I should be calling for a mental crisis unit.

Lighthearted reply.

I was really into sci fi and so on as a young person. I have a science degree. So as far as I’m concerned anything is possible im open minded to mostly everything unless proven otherwise.

Always hoped to see a ufo.

I think the moon landing is very very dubious. We’ve never even been ‘back’ since.

And in the 1500s people believed the moon was made of cheese.

A Brielliant notion, just a bit crackers

The first footage taken under water looks dodgy too. They’d never designed film to work in vacuum, low gravity, high solar radioactivity, conditions.

They can land, they just don’t want to spend the money to. If the moon had oil on it, that would be a different story.

I've always been a keen photographer, in darkroom photography circles there have long been questions about the photographs taken on the moon by the astronauts.

My theory is that they did land on the moon, but the pictures didn't come out, so they faked them up on terra firma because it would be awkward not to have images.

Skippydoodle · 15/04/2026 23:00

There seems to be an echo chamber here. I’m not on one side or the other. Maybe look/read what is prompting his recent conception & have a frank and open minded discussion, talking about all the important issues that are brought up. Just an idea.

barkygoldie · 15/04/2026 23:00

No one has mentioned Diana yet - isn’t that the most commonly believed conspiracy theory? I don’t understand people who dismiss them out of hand. I’m not prepared to listen for hours but I’m interested to know what is being claimed, and know enough intelligent people who have spent lots of time on these theories, to not be able to dismiss them all as idiots like some do.

I am not disputing the existence of the Spoon family. Are they part of the Wetherspoons empire?

Id need to look deeper into the ancestry of the spoon family but im at least 95% sure they have a secret moonshine side hustle so it really makes sense why they all keep buggering off up there all the time...🤔.

Could be something to do with the alcohol tax. 🤔 wonder if they are flying from Scotland? Alcohol is extortionate. 😕.

Hoardasurass · 15/04/2026 23:01

@AmberTigerEyes the next time he says that the moon landings were faked ask him how tge luner reflectors were put on the moon.

On a more serious point it might be time to start thinking about a divorce. I've known a couple of conspiracy nuts and they just get crazier and crazier until they will argue that the earth is flat and truly believe it. Honestly run before it gets that bad

Apollo 17 was the last time anyone walked on the moon. December 1972. It just didn't draw the same attention as Apollo 11.

Why do people keep saying this? There were six Apollo missions to the moon and many unmanned landings since.

I wouldn't worry too much about this, my husband has a PhD, and he is also sceptical about various different stories, moon landings, and the origin of Covid. I also have one and also don't believe the official versions of much news these days, I mean, if you believe all of those planes, helicopters and so forth went into Iranian airspace to retrieve one man up a mountain...

It's not harmless necessarily when people get obsessed by conspiracy theories or alter their lives around them, I have a friend who did this in Covid and had to leave social media for her own sanity, but if he's relatively functioning and normal, then having a scepticism about news stories and questioning official narratives doesn't seem so bizarre to me.

Your husband sounds like me. I’m a natural born skeptic. I also have zero time for humans as a lot lie and politics and greed rule the planet.

So I take all of that into account and stay open minded and skeptical and don’t necessarily believe things.

i think it’s good to challenge things and not just believe everything you were told.

tobee · 15/04/2026 23:08

It’s shocking that people are so confident in their assertions “ooh I saw a photo” “I watched a video “ “someone said on social media” The absolute arrogance! Nobody has landed on the moon since? Really? You base your information on half reading and half remembering something and now you’re the expert! Have the self respect to actually educate yourself.

It would be embarrassing if it wasn’t so frightening.

Rachie1973 · 15/04/2026 23:09

AmberTigerEyes · 15/04/2026 21:34

He does. That was his proof the moon landing wasn’t real. He said there are no stars in the footage. I said it was black and white footage and they were filmed during the moons day time, you don’t see stars in the day time. He looked at me like I was stupid.

My DH is like this recently too!

plus…. Epstein is alive in Palm Beach…. Man with very similar face and a plane like his flew there the day he died. .

plane contrails are chemicals added by governments to change weather patterns to make global warming more believable because thats not true either.

Sadly he has cancer and was bed bound for a long time, so too much time in rabbit holes online!

If I dare to disagree though he looks at me and does this silly little patronising head shake and eye roll like I’m just way too stupid to understand.

Of course it’s good to challenge things but then listen to all the answers you’re given, read around lots and lots of different sources and then weigh it all up. The read some more.

All the most intelligent people are constantly trying to improve their knowledge and learn more and more every day. And still they know there’s more to learn

KnickerlessParsons · 15/04/2026 22:54

I’ve seen a documentary which explained why we can tell the moon landings weren’t real. Your husband is not the only one.

I've seen a documentary that shows how a man bitten by a radioactive spider can develop superpowers and swing through New York on a web.

Hoardasurass · 15/04/2026 23:11

Pouffele · 15/04/2026 21:41

I’m sceptical about the moon landings. Not because of TikTok but because one day I saw the photos in a newspaper and it struck me how odd the vehicle they landed in was.
It’s not exactly streamlined. Everything else humans have designed to fly are aerodynamic apart from that. How on earth did that thing lift off the moon without losing anything?

You know that there's no air in space or atmosphere on the moon and as such the lunar module didn't need to be aerodynamic, they instead designed it for stability in zero and low gravity. The moons gravity is 1/10 of that on earth, which makes it much easier to take off from the moon and with the lack of an atmosphere on the moon there's no air/wind to pull bits off the lunar module

crumpetswithcheeze · 15/04/2026 23:11

Why are these things problems for you? Since when did thinking differently become a crime? He’s not harming anyone by thinking these things could be possible.

WhatNextImScared · 15/04/2026 23:12

Is this a sudden change in attitudes and opinions? If so I would be considering some form of psychological crisis, yes. There have been a couple of long running threads lately where OPs’ husbands have been sectioned due to psychosis. They were very eye opening.

While it is important to keep an open mind, one must also be careful not to leave it so far open that ones brain falls out.

Apollo 17 was the last time anyone walked on the moon. December 1972. It just didn't draw the same attention as Apollo 11.

I know thank you. But never in my lifetime.

It’s the infamous first landing that’s very very questionable especially the photos. I can only assume a landing occurred or there was a problem so then they faked the photos.

i am skeptical of many things (and the associated propaganda) and like to read and research a subject indepth. I keep my opinions to myself irl 😂

IdentityCris · 15/04/2026 23:13

Well I’m pretty old nowadays so I assume you are much younger than me. That means zero moon landings in my lifetime. So it’s a good subject to debate.

ThunderCatsHooo · 15/04/2026 23:14

I find it very odd that we managed to land on the moon in 1969, I mean how was the technology up to it? Yet we haven't been back since, it just seems odd... also the videos and photos from it just look so unreal (not in a good way). My husband says you can see the flag they placed via a satalite orbiting the moon, he's a massive science geek and goes mad when I question it all.

911 I'm not sure about?

I do think princess Diana was murdered by the royal family though.
