Every now and then, when somebody links to a very old thread, I'm shocked/saddened to see just how many posters I 'knew' have left or, worse, died

I arrived here around Brexit time, didn't post much until later

There was a good reason for it (same reason my grater rarely gets used) but OP didn't mention it in her OP so it turned into a bit of a cancel the cheque thread.

Which begs the question. Why don't you use your grater?

Because I'm hypermobile and it really hurts my hands and something inevitably goes pop in my wrist.

Coming into London on the train this evening I was chatting to a very well spoken woman about the tube strikes and the generally poor service on Avanti West Coast. She then said what a disaster privatisation had been for the railways and utilities and how she blamed Thatcher for much of the current state of the UK.
I went home beaming with my faith restored in the great British public. 😁

I came from the eleven plus forum (is that even still going) following a recommendation, possibly for net huns but the ticker tapes put me off.

Similar timeline. I joined for the SN boards. I'd tried nethuns but all the super special angel nonsense put me off. The reality was far too grim at times for that shit but you were not allowed to say so. I was on delphiforums at the time but that was dying a death already and far too american. And too much drama!

I've been around for about 9 years - started posting on the cat threads and still mainly live there. Nice friendly threads and we don't tend to get people plopping saying 'cats are bastards, get a dog' 😁
