I don't enjoy the tasks and I also don't enjoy shows where comedians just pair up with fellow comedians to do stuff and laugh like drains at each other. Weber/ social closure, etc

Not sorry actually! I am a bit surprised myself there isn't a thread because I think Telly Addicts is in fact quite eclectic. The majority of Taskmaster viewers are male (and white middle class) though.

I am going to whisper that what you are saying about MN and microcosms etc started with FWR. I do not hear any of that stuff anywhere in real life. It is really magnified on here (and any time anyone posts on FB they are there too so it's a general online world thing). It always makes views seem more widely held - and therefore reasonable- than they are.

Just FTAOD "Taskmaster" was a throwaway example to illustrate how MN does not in anyway reflect a true cross section of society. There are plenty of other little gems, once you engage.

And yes - FWR is very much a foreign country. They do things differently there.

I would suggest that MN is to reality as the stock market is to the economy.

I have never seen taskmaster, I also avoid FWR, it's far too binary for my liking with nuance being attacked in the same way rw visitors.
I quite like this thread though so thank you all for sanity and companionship in a world full of venom.
