I’m ashamed to say I was drawn here by penis beaker. 😳

pointythings · 22/04/2026 21:07

I joined in 2010 when DD1 was really struggling with her school uniform because school insisted on polyester polos which brought out her eczema. That was when I learned how deep the British fetish for uniform runs...

I got more active after Brexit, and then got a whole load of brilliant support when my marriage blew up due to my husband's alcohol addiction. There's a long running series of threads on the alcohol board that I and a couple of other survivors keep going, because they're needed.

I joined for potty training help. The trainee will hopefully begin university this year.

placemats · 22/04/2026 21:18

I joined when Boris Johnson became a contender for leadership and I couldn't quite believe that would actually happen.

This particular thread was quite good and balanced. Can't remember my first post here.

The pictures were all lovely.

MaybeNotBob · 22/04/2026 21:22

I joined during the Brexit campaign. I allowed myself to wound up by the, obviously paid, bad actors in those days before I realised what they were (how innocent was I?), and so was banned a couple of times, when MN was entirely complicit with them. I got banned for pointing out that lies, were, actually, lies. I didn't even call anyone a liar!

Some good news, it looks like tommeh ten names has had to cancel his next bigot march due to funding problems.

Can’t track this down - have you got a link at all please?

He’s arranged it for the day of the Nakba Day March - I’m sure that was just a coincidence…

cardibach · 22/04/2026 23:54

I was definitely on GCSE threads for my daughter (now 30) but joined a bit before that. Always with the same name which probably means anybody on here who knows me would recognise me…

🤣

Me too 🤣 - but a bit after its inception just to find the thread when a friend told me - it’s definitely unforgettable ha!

A bit after that then Elderly Parents/Carers threads really, really helped so much at a very difficult time - now there’s these 2 threads and OLD, Xmas bargains ones that I use pretty regularly.

There are some great threads- these are the best - then some umm surprisingly omg ones!

It turms out the tweet was fake, sorry for that.

Ah it’s ok - I’ll go and get my ticket booked now.

So annoying - and difficult to tell - these tweets. But maybe it was a plant from that side to limit our sales actually?

Llttledrummergirls · 23/04/2026 08:21

They had Sunak on newsnight last night, I thought once he'd gone I'd never have to hear the second hand salesman, law breaking, partying through lock down fuckwit again. I'm not impressed with them for foisting that on me again. What was he doing? Flogging AI.

LittleBowSheep · 23/04/2026 08:49

My cat tax is very overdue so I'm paying with interest. Currently on holiday in Greece, cats at the taverna hoping for titbits.

That wouldn't even surprise me.

Hang on.

Why are Labour getting the shit for quoting their opponents ?

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

Reform want the BBC disbanded. GBNews will become the state national mouthpiece.

Gawd help us all!

You have to ask how much of all that lovely cr*pto money has been promised to the BBC board ?

Does anyone here understand Italian train timetables.

Specifically "postponed" - it's not cancelled ( soppresso) -and Taormina-Giardini (11:02/04) - don't understand what that means.

An educated guess is that its arrival time of 11.02 is postponed and will arrive at 11.06.
