Mine is probably Ross Geller but I know not many people will agree with me! I love him.

Severus Snape- what a character.
I also liked Gene Hunt in Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes.

Billy Lloyd-Foxe, I’d have been wildly in love with him, I fear. Pretending that Africa scene never happened

ohh you mean the later scene between him and RCB and their respective wives?

I thought you meant the horse Jake’s wife bought for him for a second…

The Bride from Kill Bill

Oh lovely! Charlotte (of the Web) obviously (because "it is not often that someone comes along who is a true friend and a good writer. Charlotte was both").

Definitely Ruby Ferguson's resourceful Jill.

And Jilly Cooper's adorable Taggie, who sees the good in everyone (even Rupert C-B!).

And probably Flora Poste (Cold Comfort Farm) who is a little smug but would be a great person to get you out of A Fix.

KeyLimeCake · 06/04/2026 19:13

Moira Rose. The other three Roses in close second.

Rookie93 · 06/04/2026 19:18

Penric (or rather his demon Desdemona) from the Five Gods series by Lois McMaster Bujold, Venetia from Georgette Heyer, Doyle from the Professionals - and probably Spike.

Can’t choose between Miss Marple and Hong Kong Phooey 🤔

FlowersInPots · 06/04/2026 19:31

Another one for CJ Cregg, followed by Christina Yang.

Miss Marple (as portrayed by Joan Hickson)

The four main characters in The Good Life (Tom, Barbara, Jerry & Margot)

Roberta (Bobby) in The Railway Children ~ I need a box of tissues to cope with her meeting her father at the station. "Daddy, my Daddy" gets me every time . . .
And the way she shepherds her siblings away from the house at the end of the film so her parents can have a private reunion is simply wonderful

The second Mrs de Winter in Rebecca

Mr Bennet in Pride & Prejudice - I love his dry wit
