Jet2 losing a bit more of their rep here compared to 2 hours ago or so 😉

Tenerife - Leeds landed at Manchester. Condolences to all those who now find themselves on t’wrong side o’ hills.

Jet 2 Tenerife going TOGA at Edinburgh. Got down to 800ft too!

Sheesh I watched that one get to the end of the runway and clicked off because I thought it was ok.

How do you use flight radar

I'm new to this too. I think we just have to figure it out as we go along.

It’s blawin a hoolie in Falkirk!

DH just got home in van. Says it’s hella gusty on the M90. It’s so quiet in the house now. Earlier my wind chime was tinkling with the draft coming in the window vent

LadyPorkPie · 05/04/2026 02:07

The Tenerife flights having no luck tonight 😭 other flights are landing at Edinburgh now so hopefully it’s easing off

It was pretty bad on the M9 earlier when I drove back from Edinburgh. Glad I’m not out in it now!

Jet 2 Tenerife on second approach. Come on lasses/lads, you can do it this time!!

BoredZelda · 05/04/2026 02:14

They did it!! Right, off to bed for me!

Poshjock · 05/04/2026 02:14

Yay! Now it’s way past my bedtime. Can’t believe I’ve just spent nearly 3 hours on this!!

Anyone know what’s going on with Dubai? I thought it had been operating as normally as it could recently, I know there have been cancellations, but there’s a lot of planes not going near it now.

I’ve posted a screenshot.

Isn't Flightradar wonderful. I've been watching the activity in and out of Wanaka (Warbirds over Wanaka is a big thing in NZ every second Easter) and tracking son's flight to UK around the war zone. Fingers crossed all goes well .

Onautopilot · 05/04/2026 02:35

Spitfire just taken off in Wanaka..

I'm guessing a lot of travellers are avoiding it now and those that were caught up in the initial turmoil or looking to leave have done so. Dubai was previously a hub for international flights where refueling or stopovers was needed. Now people have maybe adjusted to go via Singapore and the like?
Also, there are still multiple daily interceptions, some causing damage, in Dubai. So I guess still plenty of risk and less reward for flights.

No sorry, I didn’t explain it too clearly. All the planes in the red circle were waiting to land in Dubai but were circling around for quite a while. Since I did that screenshot they’ve started to land again though so it must have been a temporary thing.

IAmKerplunk · 05/04/2026 02:55

Rhodes is giving it a good go at Leeds after Gran Canaria went round again

IAmKerplunk · 05/04/2026 02:56

Spoke too soon - got down to 1200ft then climbed again. I really have to call it a night now 🙈🤣

LadyPorkPie · 05/04/2026 02:57

Me too! Just watched the two failed attempts at Leeds!

Keroppi · 05/04/2026 02:58

Coastguard chopper out in Hull. Is it windy there? I'm in Dorset and the bins are still standing. Granted I missed a collection last week so it's more stuffed than usual Blush

I don't use FR anymore as they've locked everything away for some reason. ADS exchange is better

keepswimming38 · 05/04/2026 03:10

Gran Canaria flight heading to Liverpool now by the looks of things. Is it any better there?

Bunnycat101 · 05/04/2026 03:14

I feel for the people who missed their landings especially those on that Amsterdam flight. I picked up my daughter from a London airport earlier and she said it was quite a turbulent flight and very windy so can’t have been much fun for those closer to the more severe end of the storm.

Ah, might have been missiles. They had issues with that initially, and seems they're still receiving them.

SkipAd · 05/04/2026 03:28

Flew to Lanzarote in February. Very windy.
Missed the first touch down. Landed in Fuerteventura.
Managed to try again, landed, but in total we were on the plane to close to 10 hours!
Good luck to anyone trying to land tonight xxx

🤯

I mean, I know that theoretically, but you saying that after I’ve seen all the planes circling for so long makes it much more real.

I feel very far away from it all here in the UK.

What an exciting/nailbiting/heartstopping thread - wish I'd been here now.

I love flight radar.
