Morning all! No call from gp so I live another day. I have had an mri appointment for spine and pelvis so that’s good.

mil passed away last night so we had everyone over for breakfast, it was a lot for me but all done now. People are busy with arrangements, I think they want it all tied up as quickly as possible.

So sorry for your family’s loss @FurForksSake Flowers RIP your lovely mother in law x

FurForksSake · 24/03/2026 13:52

Thank you lovelies. The kids are off today and will go back to school tomorrow they are gaming with their cousin who is the same side of the family, so that’s nice. I’m hoping niece can pull herself back together for exams as she’s hoping for uni.

dh wanted to go and look at cars, he just bought himself a new car yesterday (we’ve been looking for two years!) and he wants to change mine too. I’ve chosen in principle but need to go and test drive and properly do it. But I told him it’s too much for me today after bent in the supermarket buying food for breakfast and having everyone here and I’ve got physio later.

@FurForksSake Sorry for your loss. Hope it was a peaceful passing. Don't overdo it. You need to take care of yourself as well.

@TeaAndStrumpets Glad teeth stuff over & done with.

Good physio session this morning. Shattered now. On my own so having a quiet lie down for an hour. Dog on floor at end of bed. Hope he doesn't start snoring 😁.

It must be nice being a dog. DD2's greyhound would get nicely relaxed and then start emitting pungent smells so I suppose a bit of snoring isn't too bad!

TeaAndStrumpets · 24/03/2026 14:10

@FurForksSake so very sorry for your loss. The speed has been quite shocking .
Yes take your time car shopping, you need the most comfy one you can find!

That sounds like a marathon! Hope your GP can sort you out 💐

Home from work and in bed with a cuppa and a hot cross bun (Lidl St Clement's - do not recommend) ☕

One more get up to the Easter holidays, really need a break I'm so knackered 🐰

Have a peaceful evening all, and condolences to @FurForksSake 💕

martha79 · 24/03/2026 18:25

I'm really sorry for your loss @FurForksSake

Hope you got your diazepam sorted @DisconnectedDrainpipe

I am distinctly tired but wired after today. Can't actually decide if I'd have been more tired being at the work event - I've had so many messages and notifications and phone calls and windows open on the laptop that it's felt quite overwhelming. My smartwatch buzzed about my heart rate several times because it was unhappy how high it was while I was sitting down. In bed now - similar but a bit less hectic to go tomorrow.

Sorry Lidl have disappointed with your hot cross bun! I think businesses mess with the traditional recipe at their peril. You see all sorts of variations. I don't eat bread products but DH does and he elways goes for Waitrose which are fairly normal ones.

martha79 · 24/03/2026 18:27

Oh yes, and I had Waitrose free from hot cross buns today. Also do not recommend, horrible texture!

Oioiqueen · 24/03/2026 18:50

I have to admit I'm one of those that love a variation of the hot cross bun... sorry....

Fatigue has hit hard today post chemo yesterday. I seem to be ok generally until the last one of the three week cycle and then it hits me like a bus at around 4pm. Perfect timing from getting the kids home from school and fed. I was all rather pleased to not have a single hospital appointment for two weeks until I got a call for a late cancellation for my echo this afternoon. It was either this week or next week and as it's half term next week it made sense to not push it back. Kids will be thrilled about another day in after school club this week.

MewithME · 24/03/2026 20:35

Sorry for your loss @FurForksSake . Look after yourself. There's so much going on for you 💐

It's anniversary of losing my Dad tomorrow but it was the night before when I said goodbye to him. Feeling it this evening. Been a bit hard today. I think it's because I'm a bit low and worn out anyway.

Still I have annual leave at last next week. I hope I can rest and get strong enough from r big drive to see Mum next week.

So very sorry for your loss @FurForksSake It really had happened so quickly. Look after yourself as well as your family.

Thinking of you too @MewithME Be kind to yourself today and hope you can rest up next week.

Supposed to be having a rest day but a friend wants to meet for coffee this afternoon whilst she’s off work so I’m pushing myself to go as I had to cancel in her last time.
We finally got our oven fixed yesterday 👏 which has been unconnected since the flooding so that’s good to tick a job off.

TeaAndStrumpets · 25/03/2026 16:35

@TodayIsatrickyone glad you finally got your oven fixed. Nice to get these jobs ticked off.

I was really weary yesterday after two days of appointments and had plans to get into my nightie and have a sleep. Best laid plans as usual....our friends rang to say they were en route so I had to rush round and tidy up and give the bathroom a quick clean! DH was mowing the lawn so couldn't interrupt as he was rushing to beat the rain. It was so lovely to see our friends. I admired my friend's chemo hair, she is enjoying being curly while it lasts!

The evening I was too tired for anything but I had to make my own food because DH was on the bloody phone for nearly an hour and I was starving. His friend had rung a few times while our visitors were here and DH promised he'd ring him back . I don't think it was urgent, but of course I was getting hangry lol.

Woke up at 4am itching like mad because I'd been too tired to remove my going-out clothes yesterday as I'd planned, and my ribcage and waist were reacting to the elastic in my bra and trousers. So today I just keep falling asleep.

I can rest tomorrow but have to go out again on Friday. I'll be undressing the minute I get home!

TodayIsatrickyone · 25/03/2026 17:15

I hope you can catch up on much needed rest @TeaAndStrumpets it sounds like you’ve had a busy week ( for us ME peeps at least!)

I definitely pushed myself to meet my friend today but it was nice to be out doing something enjoyable rather than ticking off a must do appointment. We got a comfy sofa in a quiet coffee shop and DH queued so I just needed to sit! It’s lifted my spirits a bit. Back in bed now but glad I made it.

DD arrived home just as we left as she had a half day and messaged to tell me dippy dog was behaving herself beautifully and didn’t react when I left so that’s reassuring! As I don’t go out much and she’s like my little shadow I always worry she’s stressed when I’m out so nice to hear she was perfectly fine. And real progress as when we first got her almost 6 months ago she sat and howled when I first left her for the first few times even if DD or DH were home.

Swanhilde · 25/03/2026 17:26

I am home from work and broken up for the Easter holidays 🐰 🐣 🐰 🐣 🐰

I'm in bed with a cuppa and DH and DD are cooking a curry for tea. I am still shattered from my weekend socialising and my sleep has been terrible since I had a glass of wine and some crumble on Sunday. So an early night is planned for tonight 😴

It's nearly the weekend/your AL @MewithME 📯 🥳

Swanhilde · 25/03/2026 17:29

A slight dampener is that my lovely, supportive, understanding line manager leaves at the end of this week. I am quite worried that her replacement may not be all those things, without which I may struggle in the role ...

Still, no point in catastrophising, I need to just enjoy the next 2 weeks of rest ☺️

TeaAndStrumpets · 25/03/2026 17:36

@TodayIsatrickyone that's very promising about dippy dog, she has settled in very well.

@Swanhilde your new line manager may be even better than the last one! Enjoy your break.

Swanhilde · 25/03/2026 17:41

Yes, you're right of course @TeaAndStrumpets ❤️

Orangesandlemons77 · 25/03/2026 17:51

Just trying to catch up, been a bit absent with something stressful at home. Think it is sorted now, hopefully anyway!

Hope we are all doing OK. I am feeling a bit guilty as I have done nothing much today except eat some chocolate cake and drink coffee and sleep.

Asked DS to pick up a prescription for me, co-codomol and gabapentin and he said 'gabapentin, mum' in a disapproving way. Also the GPs are tasking me off the co-codomol at the moment so am already feeling a bit judged.

To add to the mix another med causes food craving like for the chocolate, so need to try and reduce that as well.

It's hard when meds which otherwise can eb helpful cause all these other problems. Heard from the pain clinic that they are reviewing my referral.

Next week I have a CT scan and DS has an (expensive) filling. The joys!

It has been really stormy here, sounded like hail last night. Have to go and tackle the recycling now, my least favourite job.

Have a peaceful evening all Flowers
