Short here too, 5ft 3 but with a teenage son over six foot!

Boring kind of a day here with various deliveries. Looks lovely out. Have cleaned out the fridge. and packed away the food shopping.

Hope you all have a nice Easter weekend

Grrr, have answered 2 calls from the drs only to be cut off straight away 😡

Now I have to do another econsult to get put back on the list. I've given them DH's number even though I can answer other calls 🤞

So much for my chilled relaxing morning 😕

That is infuriating! Not good for the blood pressure I imagine! Do you have an internet phone? Ours has never been reliable since we had an 'upgrade'. It cuts out at random times. Wish we could have our copper wires back.

They really ought to scan people to get the fit of clothes right. I've often thought that about bras. There are so many threads on here about fitting nightmares. It's fine when you find finally find a comfy bra but so often you find the model is obsolete when you come to restock.

Yes that extra half inch does make all the difference. I used to go for regular appointments at the hospital to monitor my osteoporosis. At my first one they recorded my height as five foot one and a half....towering over over @Dozymoo42 😋 . After a few more visits they read it as five foot two! I put it down to a few years of Pilates with a stern teacher who corrected my posture every lesson.

We your as dinky as us every 0.5imch counts 😂 might need to take up Pilates once I have finessed my pacing!
thought I was doing well today with my pace points on visible put a load of washing in then pegged out whilst on my break working from home -great only used up just under my points for that point of the day fast forward an hour 2 deliveries at the front door 2 trips down and upstairs later and I am now within 0.4 points of my whole day budget 😳 back to the drawing board I go lol

No, mobile. I suspect the issue was their end as it connected fine the third time 🤔

Glad you got something sorted @Swanhilde

I'm another short one - five foot two last time I checked! With very short legs so trousers are a pain, while petite tops are never quite long enough in the body (but non-petite tops always have too-long arms).

I had a rough night so pretty tired today, just woken up from a nap on my lunch break and trying to do as little as possible until I can log off from work.

Snap! Long body so petite trousers are often too short in the rise, also normal sleeves are too short. My choices are 7/8 normal trousers or diy shortening, 3/4 sleeves or roll them up.

Oh I can't stop myself trotting fast to the door when the bell rings, I don't like to keep them waiting! Unwrapping parcels is tiring too, standing there cutting away miles of bubblewrap. DH unpacks the grocery deliveries and I supervise 🙂

Hope your journey is going okay, @MewithME ❤️

TeaAndStrumpets · 02/04/2026 16:27

I'm glad I don't have a Visible device I have really overdone things today. We had to go and order a bathroom this morning (second visit so our choices could be put into 3D) We were sitting down to start with but every time I asked about something I got led away round the displays which was quite a trek...big builders' merchant so I seemed to walk for miles. We were there for over two hours! I was shaking coming home so needed a long nap.

I've been designing this bathroom on graph paper for a long time so it was a relief to hand over to an expert and get a look at the final product. I obviously have delusions of grandeur and zero spatial awareness. My original wish list would have tried to put a quart into a pint pot!

Seconding this! Lovely day for a road trip.

Made it to the hotel. One of the worst drives I have ever had.

Took 4 hours to get just less than 80 miles. Road closure to start with not reported on Google. Then horrific traffic jams (bloody HS2 doesn't help) and then add in all the crazy drivers and the tailgating lorries.... I'm shaking a bit.

Having a medicinal pint of Guinness.

We're only half way there 😭

Should have taken two hours tops.

@MewithME that is shocking! Can you get off very early tomorrow and beat the rush? Hope the hotel is nice.

Hotel is great. Always reliable. Stay here couple times a year usually. Dinner soon then bath and bed.

Yes, I hope will be better as we head north. Midlands was a disaster today.

How is everyone else doing?

@TeaAndStrumpets very interesting about the pilates, goes to show that actually it can make quite the difference. It's been 5 years nearly since I lost my breasts to my primary cancer but I can't say I miss having to wear bras and the numerous visits to try them on in changing rooms. I used to design kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms using CAD. Absolutely loved that job and more so when the sales staff were out of the showroom as we would get 10% if we sold anything in their absence.

Oioiqueen · 02/04/2026 18:48

I'm sore today. I slipped yesterday as I went to answer the door and landed on my side. My knee is swollen and everything hurts all over. I haven't broken anything but I'm definitely more tender these days. Plus with lower platelets I bruise so easily. I fell down the stairs at Christmas and was black and blue for a good month. Just feeling a bit sorry for myself really.

Dozymoo42 · 02/04/2026 18:50

Awww sorry to hear that @Oioiqueen I hope you’re not sore for long! X

MewithME · 02/04/2026 18:52

Any fall can shake you up even if not badly injured @Oioiqueen . It's the adrenaline probably. Hope you are ok.

Without wanting to seem flippant they are a bloody nuisance at times, not sure I'd replace them if lost. My friend has recently had a reconstruction which sounded so harrowing but she is now pleased to have them so I suppose it's very individual.

I was very impressed by the young woman at the builders' merchants, I wish we'd gone much sooner. She really knew her stuff and suggested things like a recessed oversink wired mirror/cabinet (easy before studwork goes in). Much of my design had to accommodate DH washing like a buffalo at a waterhole. Couldn't have a mixer tap as he would brain himself while dunking his beard, etc etc. He admitted the bathroom floor would be awash if we had a wetroom style open shower so we've ordered one with a hinged door. Our current one has sliding doors and it's awful to clean.

Oh no that sounds horrible. No wonder you are feeling shaky. Do you ever use arnica cream on bruises? It does seem to help but with your platelet issues I bet you have some real corkers. A day or so of TLC is in order!

TodayIsatrickyone · 02/04/2026 19:48

How lovely to get the bathroom planned @TeaAndStrumpetsand sounds like a worthwhile trip though I can imagine how exhausting it was. Rest up now and dream of how lovely it will all eventually be!

That sounds like a tough journey @MewithME Hope you can sleep well tonight anf the next part is easier.

@Oioiqueen I’m not surprised you're feeling a bit shaken up today, falling like that is a shock to the system. Be gentle with yourself.

TeaAndStrumpets · 02/04/2026 20:14

@TodayIsatrickyone I was dead to the world for a couple of hours after I got home! It's just having to concentrate. I really admire those on here who manage to work with ME/cfs - it makes every little thing a challenge.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 02/04/2026 20:24

@Oioiqueen take it easy & give yourself some tlc.
@TeaAndStrumpets hope you get the bathroom you want!

TeaAndStrumpets · 02/04/2026 20:38

@CoffeeBeansGalore thank you! I spend hours visualising it. We've never had a modern house before so will miss all our period features, but so glad to plan an easy clean house!
