Hand luggage only: favourite bags that fit EasyJet and Ryanair sizers

We’ve got a few weekends away coming up, using both EasyJet and Ryanair, and I’m forcing myself to stick to hand luggage only.
I’m looking for recommendations of bags you own and love that fit in the bigger hand luggage sizers.

How long are you going for? The ryanair requirements are crazy small, I used my small Roka Bantry but it was just a day trip.

Try Primark. They have a whole range of travel bags that fit the airline requirements

Three nights… This is for the overhead sized bag. Though I’m sure some people would manage it in one of the under-seat bags, I am just not that effiecient!

I have a range of cabin max and cabin zero bags that are perfect as you can usually get the exact size you need. They have lasted well. Packing cubes are also worth having - roll clothes rather than fold.

Ryanair increased the size of their underseat bag last year following a change in EU rules. It's now the same as EasyJet

No it’s not, EasyJet still larger

I use a Gym shark tote https://uk.gymshark.com/products/gymshark-everyday-tote-black for my underseat bag and I've managed 3 nights somewhere warm and sunny with it.
Over head - small Tripp one mentioned above. To be honest I'm not sure it holds much more than the tote bag?

No it’s not - it’s still smaller (and also the size for Wizz Air and Vueling).

Ryanaiir: 40 x 30 x 20cm and weighing less than 10kg. That’s 24 litres in volume.

EasyJet: 45 x 36 x 20 cm and weighing less than 15kg. 30 litres.

Cabin Max do a good range. Squishy backpack styles are better.

Depends what you’re planning to do, but packing cubes and rolling clothes rather than folding is space efficient.

I saw some of these in Primark the other day (Westfield White City). I didn't get any photos but here's the link to Ryanair cabin size bags which you can buy-

We have Cabin Max and Cabin Zero backpack style bags that are designed to fit airline underseat sizes. Both brands are decent quality and comfortable to carry. I can stick a small day sack inside them.

Ones that open suitcase style (rather than open from the top) are more practical.

NorthFaceofthelaundrypile · 21/03/2026 20:47

My underseat bag will just be my longchamp tote, which is my usual hand luggage. So that’s the easy bit, it’s finding an overhead bag, preferably with wheels that will still fit the larger sizer.

@NorthFaceofthelaundrypile Look at the similar threads listed under yours; you might find some useful answers in the past threads in this topic, as there have been a few (this isn’t a dig; I genuinely mean you might find them useless.) Try the advanced search feature too. Let me know if you need any help.

There’s one just for under seat Ryan Air luggage (though it sounds like you’re looking for the overhead baggage; I mean, always be prepared to squish it under your seat as otherwise they might “ship” it when they run out of overhead space. This is why just having your medication in your flight luggage is not enough; they need to be in some kind of bag you keep with you).

@NorthFaceofthelaundrypile cross posted with you.

Good call @FFSToEverythingSince2020
I do like the look of the aerolites and cabin zero bags!
There’s actually a bit too much choice!

😂 Better than your original problem!

I just used this for a Ryanair flight, it’s fabulous! So many pockets. There was still room under the seat and at the sides of the bag. Perfect!

I got a great one in Lidl the other day. It’s a soft shell case with several compartments and a small outside section. Exact size for Ryanair including the wheels but has an expander section to give an extra 4 cm if flying with a different airline with a more generous bag size. It has 8 wheels so very easy to manoeuvre.
