What will you do to mark the late Queen's 100th?

On 21st April 2026, it will be what would have been the late HMTQ's 100th birthday.

Even though she passed away nearly four years ago, I know some people still miss her.

So, will you be commemorating the day or remember your late sovereign in any way on that day? Maybe a minute or two of silence or watching some royal documentaries or attending a church service of remembrance since I've heard some churches will be doing so?

Or, have you decided not to?

I think there's a special deal on at pizza express.

ainsleysanob · 20/03/2026 13:34

Nothing! I didn’t know her personally! My family did do a little celebration for what would have been my granddads 100th birthday on the 8th of March! Not sure King Charles did anything to celebrate that either!

Mistyglade · 20/03/2026 13:36

Diddly squat, although I do now fancy a slice of Vicky sponge, if that helps.

No I won't do anything. I don't think this is of any significance apart from maybe to her family. Can't really see why it should be.

GloomyWednesday · 20/03/2026 13:51

I'm actually treating myself to this beautiful ornament celebrating Liz's even deader mum.

GloomyWednesday · 20/03/2026 13:55

...then treating myself to a dinner of this

SeashellDREAMS · 20/03/2026 17:44

I didn't decide not to celebrate the late queen's birthday until I read your post OP informing readers that she had an upcoming centenary birthday.

I will not be commemorating, or remembering the late queen's birthday, other than enjoying a marmalade sandwich with my cuppa.
However I do that most days.

Will you be remembering the late Queen's birthday OP?
If so, do tell us what you'll be doing.

JohnTheRevelator · 20/03/2026 18:03

What a strange question. I doubt the majority of people have even realised/remembered that it would have been her 100th birthday next month. And who actually commemorates the birthday of someone that they didn't actually know personally?

Quite, I’d rather remember the deaths of Virginia Roberts Giuffre and Carolyn Andriano, and the part that ‘The Firm’ played.

FolioQuarto · 20/03/2026 19:39

How weird.

For the record, I will be doing nothing.

RaininSummer · 20/03/2026 19:43

I find it very odd to be asked this question OP.Why on earth would we do anything?

OneOfEachPlease · 20/03/2026 20:11

And other questions no one would be asking now if she was alive when it turns out she was protecting Andrew from facing justice.

pinkhousesarebest · 20/03/2026 20:19

So glad I read this as it has cheered me up immensely.

MoonWoman69 · 20/03/2026 20:26

Nothing, as I have no interest in the RF! She's gone, so there's absolutely no reason to celebrate anything!
It's as bad as the people who post on Facebook, happy heavenly birthday grandma, you'd have been 120 today!!! 🤣

BastardtheCat · 20/03/2026 20:28

Nothing.
she paid off a sex trafficked victim to keep quiet about her son.

used to like her, now I turn away.

scalt · 20/03/2026 20:32

Was she really in that coffin that people filed past? 🤔 Is she actually still alive?

DundeeNewcastle · 20/03/2026 20:34

Wishing her a happy heavenly birthday on Facebook

wjn · 20/03/2026 20:35

Won't be doing anything.
She paid off Virginia Guiffre so that her sexual offender son could get away with his crimes.

Struck down in her prime

This thread has restored my faith in MN where I often despair at the unquestioning adoration of the RF.

mrsCtheRed · 20/03/2026 20:43

Marking her birthday?!?!!
Are you high? 🤣🤣

scalt · 20/03/2026 20:46

I wonder if some people are envying Blackadder in Blackadder’s Christmas carol: he has a portrait of the Queen to give her for Christmas; and after the queen has banned Christmas and presents, he then punches a hole through the picture.

With some of the replies here, I could imagine some mumsnetters doing the same thing (bonus points if it was the painting by rolf Harris).
